The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 3011
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyidina Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) that on the day of the Battle of the Trench, the Muslims killed a prominent man from among the polytheists. The polytheists offered wealth and riches to claim his body, but the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade them from selling it.

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ غزوہ خندق کے دن مسلمانوں نے مشرکین کا ایک بڑا آدمی قتل کر دیا، مشرکین اس کی لاش حاصل کرنے کے لئے مال و دولت کی پیشکش کرنے لگے، لیکن نبی ﷺ نے انہیں اس کی لاش بیچنے سے منع فرما دیا۔
Sayyidna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki ghazwa khandaq ke din musalmanon ne mushrikon ka ek bada aadmi qatal kar diya, mushrikon us ki lash hasil karne ke liye maal o daulat ki peshkash karne lage, lekin Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne unhen us ki lash bechne se mana farma diya.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ وَمُؤَمَّلٌ ، المعنى، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ ، عَنْ مِقْسَمٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ الْمُسْلِمِينَ أَصَابُوا رَجُلًا مِنْ عُظَمَاءِ الْمُشْرِكِينَ، فَقَتَلُوهُ، فَسَأَلُوا أَنْ يَشْتَرُوا جِيفَتَهُ." فنهاهم النبيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قال مؤمَّلٌ: فنهاهم النبيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَن يَبِيعوا جِيفَتَه".
