From the Musnad of Banu Hashim

ومن مسند بني هاشم
The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)
مُسْنَدُ عَبْدِ اللّٰهِ بْنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ رَضِيَ اللّٰهُ عَنْهُمَا
Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 3078
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once Sayyiduna Sa'd ibn 'Ubada (may Allah be pleased with him) asked the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) that his mother had made a vow, but she passed away before fulfilling it, so what is the ruling? He (the Prophet) said: "You fulfill it on her behalf."

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ سیدنا سعد بن عبادہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے نبی ﷺ سے پوچھا کہ ان کی والدہ نے ایک منت مانی تھی، لیکن اسے پورا کرنے سے پہلے ہی ان کا انتقال ہو گیا، اب کیا حکم ہے؟ فرمایا: ”آپ ان کی طرف سے اسے پورا کر دیں۔“
Sayyidna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki ek martaba Sayyidna Saad bin Ubadah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se pucha ki un ki walida ne ek mannat maani thi, lekin use pura karne se pehle hi un ka inteqal ho gaya, ab kya hukum hai? Farmaya: ”Aap un ki taraf se use pura kar den.“
