Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 534
It is narrated on the authority of Usman (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "A Mahram should neither contract his own marriage nor conduct the marriage of someone else, nor should he convey a marriage proposal."

سیدنا عثمان رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا: ”محرم خود نکاح کرے اور نہ کسی کا نکاح کروائے بلکہ پیغام نکاح بھی نہ بھیجے۔“
Sayyidna Usman (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne irshad farmaya: ”Muharram khud nikah kare aur na kisi ka nikah karwaye balki paigham nikah bhi na bheje.“
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي نَافِعٌ ، عَنْ نُبَيْهِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ ، عَنْ أَبَانَ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ:" الْمُحْرِمُ لَا يَنْكِحُ، وَلَا يُنْكِحُ، وَلَا يَخْطُبُ".
