The Musnad of Abdullah ibn Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with them both)
مسنَد عَبدِ اللَّهِ بنِ عمَرَ بنِ الخَطَّابِ رَضِیَ اللَّه تَعَالَى عَنهمَا
Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 5615
Narrated by Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), that once the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saw a child whose hair was partly shaved and partly left unshaven. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) prohibited him from doing so, saying, "Either shave the entire head or leave all of it."

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ نبی ﷺ نے کسی بچے کو دیکھا جس کے کچھ بال کٹے ہوئے تھے اور کچھ چھوٹے ہوئے تھے نبی ﷺ نے اس سے منع کرتے ہوئے فرمایا: ”یا تو سارے سر کے بال کٹواؤ یا سب چھوڑ دو۔“
Sayyidna Ibn Umar Radi Allah Anhuma se marvi hai ki ek martaba Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne kisi bache ko dekha jis ke kuch baal kate hue the aur kuch chhote hue the Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne is se mana karte hue farmaya: ”Ya to sare sir ke baal katwao ya sab chhor do.“
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَأَى صَبِيًّا قَدْ حُلِقَ بَعْضُ شَعَرِهِ، وَتُرِكَ بَعْضُهُ، فَنَهَى عَنْ ذَلِكَ، وَقَالَ:" احْلِقُوا كُلَّهُ، أَوْ اتْرُكُوا كُلَّهُ".
