Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 6541
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Abdullah Ibn Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) that once, while on the pulpit, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Show mercy, you will be shown mercy. Forgive, you will be forgiven. Destruction is for those who wield only words as weapons. Destruction is for those who knowingly and insistently persist in their sins."

سیدنا ابن عمرو رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے برسرمنبریہ بات ارشاد فرمائی تم رحم کرو تم پر رحم کیا جائے گا معاف کرو تمہیں معاف کر دیا جائے ہلاکت ہے ان لوگوں کے لئے جو صرف باتوں کا ہتھیار رکھتے ہیں ہلاکت ہے ان لوگوں کے لئے جو اپنے گناہوں پر جانتے بوجھتے اصرار کرتے اور ڈٹے رہتے ہیں۔
Sayyidina Ibn Amr (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki ek martaba Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne barsar mimbari yeh baat irshad farmaai tum reham karo tum par reham kiya jayega maaf karo tumhen maaf kar diya jayega halaakat hai un logon ke liye jo sirf baaton ka hathiyar rakhte hain halaakat hai un logon ke liye jo apne gunahon par jaante boojhte israr karte aur date rehte hain.
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا حَرِيزٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا حِبَّانُ الشَّرْعَبِيُّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ وَهُوَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ:" ارْحَمُوا تُرْحَمُوا، وَاغْفِرُوا يَغْفِرْ اللَّهُ لَكُمْ، وَيْلٌ لِأَقْمَاعِ الْقَوْلِ، وَيْلٌ لِلْمُصِرِّينَ الَّذِينَ يُصِرُّونَ عَلَى مَا فَعَلُوا وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ".
