Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 7344
It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: “If I did not think that it would be too difficult for the Muslims, I would never stay behind from any expedition in the cause of Allah. But I cannot find the means to mount them all, and I do not like to leave them behind. And they would be eager to go out with me, until none would stay behind but one whom I would have to excuse.”

حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا: اگر میں سمجھتا کہ مسلمان مشقت میں نہیں پڑیں گے تو میں اللہ کے راستہ میں نکلنے والے کسی سریہ سے کبھی پیچھے نہ رہتا لیکن میں اتنی وسعت نہیں پاتا کہ میں ان سب کو سواریاں مہیا کرسکوں اور کہیں وہ میرے بعد جہاد میں شرکت کرنے سے پیچھے نہ ہٹنے لگیں۔
Hazrat Abu Huraira razi Allah unhu se marvi hai ke Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: Agar main samjhta ke musalman mushqat mein nahi padenge to main Allah ke raaste mein nikalne wale kisi sariya se kabhi peeche na rehta lekin main itni wusat nahi pata ke main un sab ko sawariyan muhayya kar sakun aur kahin wo mere baad jihad mein shirkat karne se peeche na hatne lagein.
حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، يَبْلُغُ بِهِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" لَوْلَا أَنْ أَشُقَّ عَلَى أُمَّتِي الْمُؤْمِنِينَ، مَا تَخَلَّفْتُ عَنْ سَرِيَّةٍ لَيْسَ عِنْدِي مَا أَحْمِلُهُمْ عَلَيْهِ، وَلَا يَتَخَلَّفُونَ عَنِّي".
