Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 7590
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once a person asked the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), "Which deed is the most superior?" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) replied, "To have faith in Allah and His Messenger." The man asked, "Then which deed is superior?" He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) replied, "Jihad in the way of Allah." The man asked, "And after that?" He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) replied, "Hajj Mabrur (an accepted Hajj)."

حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ کسی نے نبی کریم ﷺ سے یہ سوال پوچھا کہ کون سا عمل سب سے زیادہ افضل ہے؟ نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا اللہ اور اس کے رسول پر ایمان لانا سائل نے پوچھا کہ پھر کون سا عمل افضل ہے؟ فرمایا جہاد فی سبیل اللہ سائل نے پوچھا کہ اس کے بعد؟ فرمایا حج مبرور۔
Hazrat Abu Hurairah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki ek martaba kisi ne Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se ye sawal poocha ki kaun sa amal sab se zyada afzal hai Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya Allah aur uske Rasool par iman lana Sail ne poocha ki phir kaun sa amal afzal hai Farmaya Jihad fi sabilillah Sail ne poocha ki uske baad Farmaya Hajj mabroor
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كَامِلٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَال: سُئِلَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: أَيُّ الْأَعْمَالِ أَفْضَلُ؟ فقَالَ: " إِيمَانٌ بِاللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ"، قَالَ ثُمَّ مَاذَا؟ قَالَ:" ثُمَّ الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ"، قِيلَ: ثُمَّ مَاذَا؟ قَال:" ثُمَّ حَجٌّ مَبْرُورٌ" .
