The Musnad of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him)
مسنَد اَبِی هرَیرَةَ رَضِیَ اللَّه عَنه
Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 7741
It was narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The best charity is that which is given from what is sufficient for one's needs. The upper hand is better than the lower hand, and begin your charity with those for whom you are responsible."

حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا بہترین صدقہ تو دل کے غناء کے ساتھ ہوتا ہے اوپر والا ہاتھ نیچے والے ہاتھ سے بہتر ہوتا ہے اور تم صدقات و خیرات میں ان لوگوں سے ابتداء کرو جو تمہاری ذمہ داری میں آتے ہیں۔
Hazrat Abu Hurairah RA se marvi hai keh Nabi Kareem SAW ne farmaya behtarin sadqah to dil ke ghana ke sath hota hai upar wala hath neeche wale hath se behtar hota hai aur tum sadqat o khairat mein in logon se ibtida karo jo tumhari zimmedari mein aate hain.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " خَيْرُ الصَّدَقَةِ مَا كَانَ عَنْ ظَهْرِ غِنًى، وَابْدَأْ بِمَنْ تَعُولُ، وَالْيَدُ الْعُلْيَا خَيْرٌ مِنَ الْيَدِ السُّفْلَى" ، قُلْتُ لِأَيُّوبَ:" مَا عَنْ ظَهْرِ غِنًى؟" قَالَ: عَنْ فَضْلِ غِنَاكَ.
