Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 7863
Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that once a man asked the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), "Which deed is the most virtuous?" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) replied, "To believe in Allah and His Messenger." The man asked, "Then which deed is the most virtuous?" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Jihad in the way of Allah." The man asked, "And after that?" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "An accepted Hajj (pilgrimage)."

حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ کسی نے نبی کریم ﷺ سے یہ سوال پوچھا کہ کون سا عمل سب سے زیادہ افضل ہے؟ نبی کریم ﷺ اللہ اور اس کے رسول پر ایمان لانا سائل نے پوچھا کہ پھر کون سا عمل افضل ہے؟ فرمایا جہادفی سبیل اللہ عمل کا کوہان ہے سائل نے پوچھا کہ اس کے بعد؟ فرمایا حج مبرور۔
Hazrat Abu Hurairah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki ek martaba kisi ne Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se yeh sawal poocha ki kaun sa amal sab se zyada afzal hai Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) Allah aur uske rasool par iman lana sail ne poocha ki phir kaun sa amal afzal hai farmaya jihad fi sabilillah amal ka kohan hai sail ne poocha ki uske baad farmaya hajj mabroor
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ: سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: أَيُّ الْأَعْمَالِ أَفْضَلُ، وَأَيُّ الْأَعْمَالِ خَيْرٌ؟ قَالَ: " إِيمَانٌ بِاللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ"، قَالَ: ثُمَّ أَيٌّ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ؟ قَالَ:" الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ سَنَامُ الْعَمَلِ"، قَالَ: ثُمَّ أَيٌّ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ؟ قَالَ:" حَجٌّ مَبْرُورٌ" .
