Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 8075
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that one day, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) stood to deliver a sermon to the people. In it, he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) declared belief in Allah and striving in the cause of Allah as among the most virtuous deeds in the sight of Allah. A man stood up and said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), tell me, if I am martyred in the way of Allah, and I have remained steadfast in my religion, and I have participated in Jihad with the intention of reward, and I have kept moving forward and not turned my back, will Allah forgive my sins?" The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Yes." He asked the same question three times, and the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) gave the same answer each time. The last time, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Except for debt, for this is what Gabriel (peace be upon him) has just whispered in my ear."

حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ ایک دن نبی کریم ﷺ لوگوں کے سامنے خطبہ ارشاد فرمانے کے لئے کھڑے ہوئے اس میں آپ ﷺ نے ایمان باللہ اور جہاد فی سبییل اللہ کو اللہ کے نزدیک افضل اعمال میں سے قرار دیا ایک آدمی کھڑا ہو کر کہنے لگا یا رسول اللہ ﷺ یہ بتائیے کہ اگر میں اللہ کے راستہ میں شہید ہوجاؤں میں اپنے دین پر ثابت قدم رہا ہوں اور ثواب کی نیت سے جہاد میں شریک ہوں میں آگے بڑھتا رہا ہوں اور پیٹھ نہ پھیری ہو تو کیا اللہ میرے گناہوں کو معاف فرما دے گا؟ نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا ہاں اس نے یہی سوال تین مرتبہ کیا اور نبی کریم ﷺ نے ہر مرتبہ یہی جواب دیا آخری مرتبہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا سوائے قرض کے کہ یہ بات مجھے حضرت جبرائیل علیہ السلام نے ابھی ابھی کان میں بتائی ہے۔
Hazrat Abu Huraira (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ke aik din Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) logon ke samne khutba irshad farmane ke liye kharay huye is mein Aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne Imaan bil Allah aur Jihad fi sabeelillah ko Allah ke nazdeek afzal amal mein se qarar diya aik aadmi khara ho kar kehne laga Ya Rasulullah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ye bataiye ke agar mein Allah ke raaste mein shaheed ho jaon mein apne deen par sabit qadam raha hun aur sawab ki niyat se jihad mein sharik hun mein aage barhta raha hun aur peeth na pheri ho to kya Allah mere gunahon ko maaf farma de ga Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya Haan usne yehi sawal teen martaba kiya aur Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne har martaba yehi jawab diya aakhri martaba Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya siwaye qarz ke keh ye baat mujhe Hazrat Jibraeel Alaihissalam ne abhi abhi kaan mein batai hai
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ ، أَخْبَرَنِي عِيَاضُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي سَرْحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ: قَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَخْطُبُ النَّاسَ، فَذَكَرَ الْإِيمَانَ بِاللَّهِ، وَالْجِهَادَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ، مِنْ أَفْضَلِ الْأَعْمَالِ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ، قَالَ: فَقَامَ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ قُتِلْتُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَأَنَا صَابِرٌ مُحْتَسِبٌ، مُقْبِلًا غَيْرَ مُدْبِرٍ، كَفَّرَ اللَّهُ عَنِّي خَطَايَايَ؟ قَالَ:" نَعَمْ"، قَالَ:" فَكَيْفَ قُلْتَ؟"، قَالَ: فَرَدَّ عَلَيْهِ الْقَوْلَ كَمَا قَالَ، قَالَ:" نَعَمْ"، قَالَ:" فَكَيْفَ قُلْتَ؟"، قَالَ: فَرَدَّ عَلَيْهِ الْقَوْلَ أَيْضًا، قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ قُتِلْتُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ صَابِرًا مُحْتَسِبًا، مُقْبِلًا غَيْرَ مُدْبِرٍ، كَفَّرَ اللَّهُ عَنِّي خَطَايَايَ؟ قَالَ: " نَعَمْ، إِلَّا الدَّيْنَ، فَإِنَّ جِبْرِيلَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام سَارَّنِي بِذَلِكَ" .
