The Musnad of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him)
مسنَد اَبِی هرَیرَةَ رَضِیَ اللَّه عَنه
Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 8216
And the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whatever town you enter and stay there for a while, after its conquest, you have a share in its spoils of war. And whatever town disobeys Allah and His Messenger, then a fifth of it belongs to Allah and His Messenger, and then it is yours."

اور نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا جس بستی میں تم داخل ہوئے اور وہاں کچھ عرصہ اقامت کی اس کی فتح کے بعد مال غنیمت میں تمہارا حصہ ہے اور جو بستی اللہ اور اس کے رسول کی نافرمانی کرے تو اس کا خمس اللہ اور اس کے رسول کا ہے پھر تمہارا ہے۔
Aur Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya jis basti mein tum dakhil hue aur wahan kuch arsa iqamat ki us ki fatah ke baad maal ghanimat mein tumhara hissa hai aur jo basti Allah aur uske Rasool ki nafarmani kare to us ka khums Allah aur uske Rasool ka hai phir tumhara hai.
وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" أَيُّمَا قَرْيَةٍ أَتَيْتُمُوهَا فَأَقَمْتُمْ فِيهَا، فَسَهْمُكُمْ فِيهَا، وَأَيُّمَا قَرْيَةٍ عَصَتْ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ، فَإِنَّ خُمُسَهَا لِلَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ، ثُمَّ هِيَ لَكُمْ" .
