The Musnad of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him)
مسنَد اَبِی هرَیرَةَ رَضِیَ اللَّه عَنه
Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 8224
And the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Allah Almighty laughs at two men, one of whom killed the other, but then both of them entered Paradise. People asked, "O Messenger of Allah, how is that?" The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said that one man entered Paradise as a martyr, then Allah turned to the other and guided him to Islam, and he also achieved martyrdom by striving in the way of Allah.

اور نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا اللہ تعالیٰ کو ان دو آدمیوں پر ہنسی آتی ہے جن میں سے ایک نے دوسرے کو شہید کردیا ہو لیکن پھر دونوں ہی جنت میں داخل ہوجائیں لوگوں نے پوچھا یا رسول اللہ وہ کس طرح؟ نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا کہ ایک آدمی تو شہید ہو کر جنت میں داخل ہوگیا پھر اللہ نے دوسرے کی طرف متوجہ ہو کر اسے بھی اسلام کی طرف ہدایت دے دی اور وہ بھی اللہ کے راستہ میں جہاد کر کے شہید ہوجائے۔
Aur Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya Allah Ta'ala ko in do admiyon par hansi aati hai jin mein se ek ne dusre ko shaheed kar diya ho lekin phir donon hi jannat mein dakhil hojain logon ne poocha Ya Rasul Allah woh kis tarah? Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya ki ek aadmi to shaheed ho kar jannat mein dakhil hogaya phir Allah ne dusre ki taraf mutawajjah ho kar use bhi Islam ki taraf hidayat de di aur woh bhi Allah ke raaste mein jihad kar ke shaheed hojaye.
وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " يَضْحَكُ اللَّهُ لِرَجُلَيْنِ يَقْتُلُ أَحَدُهُمَا الْآخَرَ، كِلَاهُمَا يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ"، قَالُوا: كَيْفَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ؟ قَالَ:" يَقْتُلُ هَذَا فَيَلِجُ الْجَنَّةَ، ثُمَّ يَتُوبُ اللَّهُ عَلَى الْآخَرِ فَيَهْدِيهِ إِلَى الْإِسْلَامِ، ثُمَّ يُجَاهِدُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَيُسْتَشْهَدُ" .
