Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 8507
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying, "The most virtuous prayer after the obligatory prayers is the one offered in the middle of the night, and the most virtuous fast after the fasts of Ramadan is the fast in the month of Allah, which you call Muharram."

حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ کو یہ فرماتے ہوئے سنا ہے کہ فرض نمازوں کے بعد سب سے زیادہ افضل نماز رات کے درمیان حصے میں پڑھی جانے والی ہے اور ماہ رمضان کے روزوں کے بعد سب سے زیادہ افضل روزہ اللہ کے اس مہینے کا ہے جسے تم محرم کہتے ہو۔
Hazrat Abu Huraira (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko ye farmate huye suna hai ki farz namaazon ke baad sab se zyada afzal namaz raat ke darmiyaan hisse mein parha jane wali hai aur mah ramazan ke rozon ke baad sab se zyada afzal roza Allah ke us mahine ka hai jise tum muharram kehte ho.
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عُمَيْرٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْتَشِرِ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَن ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، يَقُولُ: " أَفْضَلُ الصَّلَاةِ بَعْدَ الْمَفْرُوضَةِ صَلَاةٌ فِي جَوْفِ اللَّيْلِ، وَأَفْضَلُ الصِّيَامِ بَعْدَ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ شَهْرُ اللَّهِ الَّذِي تَدْعُونَهُ الْمُحَرَّمَ" .
