Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 8812
Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: A group of people were sitting when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came and stood amongst them. He said, "Shall I tell you who among you is the best and who is the worst?" They remained silent. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) repeated his question three times. Then a man from amongst them said, "Why not, O Messenger of Allah?" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "The best among you is the one from whom goodness is expected and from whose evil you are safe. And the worst among you is the one from whom goodness is not expected and from whose evil you are not safe."

حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ ایک جگہ کچھ لوگ بیٹھے ہوئے تھے نبی کریم ﷺ ان کے پاس جا کر کھڑے ہوگئے اور فرمایا کیا میں تمہیں بتاؤں کہ تم میں سب سے بہتر اور سب سے بدتر کون ہے؟ لوگ خاموش رہے نبی کریم ﷺ نے تین مرتبہ اپنی بات دہرائی اس پر ان میں سے ایک آدمی بولا کیوں نہیں یا رسول اللہ ﷺ فرمایا تم میں سب سے بہتر وہ ہے جس سے خیر کی امید ہو اور اس کے شر سے امن ہو اور سب سے بدتر وہ ہے جس سے خیر کی توقع نہ ہو اور اس کے شر سے امن نہ ہو۔
Hazrat Abu Huraira (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki ek jagah kuch log baithe hue the Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) unke pass ja kar khare ho gaye aur farmaya kya main tumhen bataun ki tum mein sab se behtar aur sab se badtar kaun hai? Log khamosh rahe Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne teen martaba apni baat dohrai is par un mein se ek aadmi bola kyun nahi ya Rasulullah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) farmaya tum mein sab se behtar wo hai jis se khair ki umeed ho aur uske shar se aman ho aur sab se badtar wo hai jis se khair ki tawaqqu na ho aur uske shar se aman na ho.
حَدَّثَنَا هَيْثَمٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ مَيْسَرَةَ يَعْنِي الصَّنْعَانِيَّ ، عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَفَ عَلَى نَاسٍ جُلُوسٍ، فَقَالَ:" أَلَا أُخْبِرُكُمْ بِخَيْرِكُمْ مِنْ شَرِّكُمْ؟" فَسَكَتَ الْقَوْمُ، فَأَعَادَهَا ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ، فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ: بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ , قَالَ: " خَيْرُكُمْ مَنْ يُرْجَى خَيْرُهُ وَيُؤْمَنُ شَرُّهُ، وَشَرُّكُمْ مَنْ لَا يُرْجَى خَيْرُهُ وَلَا يُؤْمَنُ شَرُّهُ" .
