The Musnad of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him)
مسنَد اَبِی هرَیرَةَ رَضِیَ اللَّه عَنه
Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 8982
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "By Him in Whose Hand is my soul, if I did not think that it would cause hardship to the Muslims, I would never stay behind from any expedition in the way of Allah. But I do not find mounts to carry them, nor do they find the means to go out, and they dislike to be left behind me and to stay behind after me from fighting in the way of Allah.”

گزشتہ سند ہی سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا اس ذات کی قسم جس کے دست قدرت میں میری جان ہے اگر میں سمجھتا کہ مسلمان مشقت میں نہیں پڑیں تو میں اللہ کے راستہ میں نکلنے والے کسی سریہ سے کبھی پیچھے نہ رہتا لیکن میں اتنی سواریاں نہیں پاتا جن پر انہیں سوار کرسکوں اور وہ اتنی وسعت نہیں پاتے کہ وہ میری پیروی کرسکیں اور ان کی دلی رضامندی نہ ہو اور وہ میرے بعد جہاد میں شرکت کرنے سے پیچھے ہٹنے لگیں۔
Guzishta sanad hi se marvi hai keh Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne irshad farmaya is zaat ki qasam jis ke dast qudrat mein meri jaan hai agar mein samajhta keh musalman mashaqqat mein nahin parhen to mein Allah ke rasta mein nikalne wale kisi sariya se kabhi peeche na rehta lekin mein itni sawariyan nahin pata jin par unhen sawar karsakun aur wo itni wusat nahin pate keh wo meri pairavi karsaken aur un ki dili raza mandi na ho aur wo mere baad jihad mein shirkat karne se peeche hatne lagein.
وَبِإِسْنَادِهِ، قَالَ: وَبِإِسْنَادِهِ، قَالَ: وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ، لَوْلَا أَنْ أَشُقَّ عَلَى أُمَّتِي مَا قَعَدْتُ خِلَافَ سَرِيَّةٍ تَغْدُو فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ، وَلَكِنْ لَا أَجِدُ مَا أَحْمِلُهُمْ، وَلَا يَجِدُونَ سَعَةً فَيَتْبَعُونِي، وَلَا تَطِيبُ أَنْفُسُهُمْ أَنْ يَتَخَلَّفُوا بَعْدِي" .
