The Musnad of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him)
مسنَد اَبِی هرَیرَةَ رَضِیَ اللَّه عَنه
Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 9262
It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that he heard the Prophet (ﷺ) saying: “There is no such thing as bad omen, but the best of it is ‘Fa’l.’” It was said: “O Messenger of Allah! What is ‘Fa’l?’” He said: “A good word that one of you hears.”

حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ کو یہ فرماتے ہوئے سنا ہے کہ بدشگونی کی کوئی حیثیت نہیں ہے البتہ " فال " سب سے بہتر ہے کسی نے پوچھا یا رسول اللہ! " فال " سے کیا مراد ہے؟ فرمایا اچھا کلمہ جو تم میں سے کوئی سنے۔
Hazrat Abu Huraira Razi Allah Anhu se marvi hai ke Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko ye farmate huye suna hai ke badshagoni ki koi haisiyat nahi hai albatta "faal" sab se behtar hai kisi ne pucha Ya Rasulullah! "faal" se kya murad hai? Farmaya achcha kalma jo tum mein se koi sune.
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم: " لَا طِيَرَةَ، وَخَيْرُهَا الْفَأْلُ"، قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، وَمَا الْفَأْلُ؟، قَالَ:" الْكَلِمَةُ الصَّالِحَةُ، يَسْمَعُهَا أَحَدُكُمْ" .
