Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 9585
It was narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Saying ‘Subhan Allah’ to prompt the Imam is for men, and clapping is for women.”

حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا امام کو یاد دلانے کے لئے سبحان اللہ کہنا مردوں کے لئے ہے اور تالی بجانا عورتوں کے لئے ہے۔
Hazrat Abu Huraira (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai keh Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya Imam ko yaad dilane ke liye Subhan Allah kehna mardon ke liye hai aur taali bajana auraton ke liye hai.
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ عَوْفٍ ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، وَالْحَسَنِ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " التَّسْبِيحُ لِلرِّجَالِ، وَالتَّصْفِيقُ لِلنِّسَاءِ" .
