Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 9923
Narrated by Abu Hurairah (RA), the Prophet (PBUH) said, when the Imam says “Sami Allahu Liman Hamidah” and the one who is praying behind him says “Allahumma Rabbana Walakal Hamd” and his statement coincides with the statement of the angels in the sky “Allahumma Rabbana Lakal Hamd”, then all of his previous sins will be forgiven.

حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا جب امام سمع اللہ لمن حمدہ کہے اور مقتدی اللہم ربنا ولک الحمد کہے اور اس کا یہ جملہ آسمان والوں کے اللہم ربنا لک الحمد کے موافق ہوجائے تو اس کے گزشتہ سارے گناہ معاف ہوجائیں گے۔
Hazrat Abu Hurairah razi Allah anhu se marvi hai ki Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya jab imam Sami Allahu liman Hamidah kahe aur muqtadi Allahumma rabbana lakal Hamd kahe aur iska yeh jumla aasman walon ke Allahumma rabbana lakal Hamd ke muwafiq hojaye to iske guzishta sare gunah maaf hojaenge.
قَرَأْتُ عَلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ : مَالِكٌ ، وَحَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ ، قََالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ سُمَيٍّ مَوْلَى أَبِي بَكْرٍ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ السَّمَّانِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " إِذَا قَالَ الْإِمَامُ: سَمِعَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ، فَقُولُوا: اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّنَا لَكَ الْحَمْدُ، فَإِنَّهُ مَنْ وَافَقَ قَوْلُهُ قَوْلَ الْمَلَائِكَةِ، غُفِرَ لَهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ" .
