Chapter on Neglecting Ablution Due to Laughing Loudly During Prayer

Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 672
Sufyan narrated: Jabir ibn Abdullah was asked about a person who laughs in prayer. He said: "He should repeat the prayer but not the ablution."

(٦٧٢) سیدنا سفیان فرماتے ہیں : سیدنا جابر بن عبداللہ (رض) سے اس شخص کے متعلق سوال کیا گیا جو نماز میں ہنستا ہے تو انھوں نے فرمایا : وہ دوبارہ نماز پڑھے گا لیکن وضو نہیں کرے گا۔
(672) Sayyidna Sufyan farmate hain : Sayyidna Jabir bin Abdullah (RA) se is shakhs ke mutalliq sawal kiya gaya jo namaz mein hansta hai to unhon ne farmaya : woh dobara namaz parhega lekin wuzu nahi karega.
Narrated Abu Musa Al-Ash'ari (RA): He led the people in prayer and they saw something (and) laughed. When Abu Musa (RA) finished the prayer, he said: "Whoever laughed in the prayer should repeat his prayer."

(٦٧٦) سیدنا ابو موسیٰ اشعری (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ وہ لوگوں کو نماز پڑھا رہے تھے، لوگوں نے کسی چیز کو دیکھا تو ہنس پڑے۔ سیدنا ابو موسیٰ (رض) جب نماز سے پھرے تو فرمایا : جو نماز میں ہنسا ہے وہ نماز دوبارہ پڑھے۔
(676) Syedna Abu Musa Ashari (RA) se riwayat hai keh woh logon ko namaz parha rahay thay, logon ne kisi cheez ko dekha to hans paray. Syedna Abu Musa (RA) jab namaz se phire to farmaya: Jo namaz mein hansa hai woh namaz dobara parhay.
Abi Zinad narrated from his father that I heard from the jurists regarding the person who has a nosebleed that he should wash the blood and not perform ablution, and regarding the person who laughs during prayer, he should repeat the prayer and not repeat ablution.

(٦٧٨) أبی زناد اپنے والد سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ میں نے فقہاء سے اس شخص کے بارے میں سنا ہے جس کو نکسیر آجائے کہ وہ خون کو دھوئے گا اور وضو نہیں کرے گا اور اس شخص کے بارے میں جو نماز میں ہنس پڑتا ہے وہ نماز دوبارہ پڑھے گا اور وضو نہیں لوٹائے گا۔
(678) Abi Zanad apne walid se naql farmate hain ke maine fuqaha se is shakhs ke bare mein suna hai jis ko nakseer aajae ke woh khoon ko dhoye ga aur wuzu nahin kare ga aur is shakhs ke bare mein jo namaz mein hans parta hai woh namaz dobara parhe ga aur wuzu nahin loutae ga.
(679) It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu 'Aliyah that a blind man came while the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was praying. He fell into a well, and some of the Companions laughed. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) ordered: "Whoever laughed should perform ablution again and repeat his prayer."
This hadith is mursal. The mursals of Abu 'Aliyah have no status.

(٦٧٩) سیدنا ابو عالیہ سے روایت ہے کہ ایک نابینا شخص آیا اور نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) حالت نماز میں تھے، وہ کنویں میں گرگیا تو کچھ صحابہ کرام ہنس پڑے۔ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے حکم دیا : جو ہنسا تھا وہ دوبارہ وضو کرے اور نماز دہرائے۔
یہ حدیث مرسل ہے۔ ابو عالیہ کی مراسیل کی کوئی حیثیت نہیں۔
(679) Syedna Abu Aliya se riwayat hai ke ek nabina shakhs aaya aur Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) halat namaz mein thay, woh kunwen mein gir gaya to kuch sahaba kiram hans paray. Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne hukum diya : jo hansa tha woh dobara wazu kare aur namaz dohraye.
Yeh hadees mursal hai. Abu Aliya ki maraseel ki koi haisiyat nahin.
Hasan reported: The Prophet (ﷺ) was leading people in prayer. A blind man came and fell into the well of the mosque. Some people laughed. When the Prophet (ﷺ) finished the prayer with Taslim, he ordered them to repeat their ablution and prayer.
(b) Mu'adh Jahni reported from the Prophet (ﷺ) (through a chain of narrators). Mu'adh is not a Companion but he was the first person in Basra who held discussions on predestination.

(٦٨٠) حسن سے روایت ہے کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) لوگوں کو نماز پڑھا رہے تھے، ایک نابینا شخص آیا تو مسجد کے کنویں میں گرپڑا۔ (یہ دیکھ کر) بعض لوگ ہنس پڑے۔ جب نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے سلام پھیرا تو حکم دیا کہ وہ دوبارہ وضو کریں اور نماز لوٹائیں۔
(ب) معبد جہنی نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سے مرسل نقل فرماتے ہیں۔ معبد صحابی نہیں ہے بلکہ پہلا شخص تھا جس نے بصرہ میں تقدیر پر بحث کی۔
(680) Hassan se riwayat hai keh Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) logon ko namaz parha rahe thay, aik nabina shakhs aaya to masjid ke kuen mein gir para. (Yeh dekh kar) baaz log hans pare. Jab Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne salaam phera to hukum diya keh woh dobara wazu karen aur namaz loutain. (b) Maabad Jahni Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) se mursal naqal farmate hain. Maabad sahabi nahi hai balkeh pehla shakhs tha jis ne Basra mein taqdeer par bahes ki.
Ibrahim said: A blind man came while the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was praying. He stumbled and fell into a well, so some of the Companions laughed. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered those who laughed to repeat their ablution and prayer.

(٦٨١) ابراہیم کہتے ہیں : ایک نابینا شخص آیا اور نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) حالت نماز میں تھے وہ لڑکھڑایا اور کنویں میں گرگیا تو بعض صحابہ ہنس پڑے۔ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ہنسنے والوں کو حکم دیا کہ وہ دوبارہ وضو کریں اور نماز دہرائیں۔
(681) Ibrahim kehte hain : Aik nabina shakhs aaya aur Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) halat namaz mein the woh larkhraya aur kunwein mein girgaya to baaz sahaba hans pare. Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne hasne walon ko hukm diya ke woh dobara wazu karen aur namaz dohrayen.
(682) (a) Narrated Ibn Shihab: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) ordered the one who laughed in prayer to repeat both his ablution and prayer.
(b) Narrated Hasan: He did not consider ablution to be broken by laughing in prayer.
(c) Narrated Zuhri: He would repeat the prayer due to laughing, but would not repeat the ablution.

(٦٨٢) (الف) ابن شھاب سے روایت ہے کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے اس شخص کو حکم دیا جو نماز میں ہنس پڑا تھا کہ وہ وضو اور نماز کو دوبارہ لوٹائے۔
(ب) حسن سے روایت ہے کہ وہ نماز میں ہنسنے سے وضوباقی نہیں سمجھتے تھے۔
(ج) زہری سے روایت ہے کہ ہنسنے سے نماز دوبارہ پڑھے گا لیکن وضو دوبارہ نہیں کرے گا۔
682 alf Ibn Shahab se riwayat hai keh Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne us shakhs ko hukum diya jo namaz mein hans parha tha keh woh wazu aur namaz ko dobara loutaye. b Hasan se riwayat hai keh woh namaz mein hansne se wazu baqi nahi samajhte thay. j Zuhri se riwayat hai keh hansne se namaz dobara parhe ga laikin wazu dobara nahi kare ga.
