Chapter: Those who said: He is offered repentance three times, if he reverts, he is killed
باب من قال: يستتاب ثلاث مرات، فإن عاد قتل
Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 16889
Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said that an apostate should be given three chances to repent, then he recited this verse: "Indeed, those who believed then disbelieved, then believed, then disbelieved, and then increased in disbelief - never will Allah forgive them, nor will He guide them to a way." [An-Nisa 137].

(١٦٨٨٩) حضرت علی (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ مرتد کو تین مرتبہ توبہ کا موقع دیا جائے، پھر یہ آیت پڑھی { اِنَّ الَّذِیْنَ اٰمَنُوْا ثُمَّ کَفَرُوْا ثُمَّ اٰمَنُوْا ثُمَّ کَفَرُوْا ثُمَّ ازْدَادُوْا کُفْرًا } [النساء ١٣٧]
(16889) Hazrat Ali (RA) farmate hain keh murtad ko teen martaba toba ka mauqa diya jaye, phir yeh ayat parhi { inna allatheena aamanoo thumma kafaroo thumma aamanoo thumma kafaroo thumma izdadoo kufran } [alnesa 137].
Abu Ali Hamdani said that a man was brought to Fazalah bin 'Ubaid (may Allah be pleased with him) who had become an apostate. He was invited to Islam and he became Muslim, but then he apostatized. When this happened three times, he was killed, citing this verse as evidence: “Indeed, those who believe and then disbelieve, then believe and then disbelieve, and then increase in disbelief – never will Allah forgive them, nor will He guide them to a way.” (Quran 4:137).

(١٦٨٩٢) ابو علی ہمدانی کہتے ہیں کہ حضرت فضالہ بن عبید (رض) کے پاس ایک آدمی لایا گیا جو مرتد ہوگیا تھا۔ اسے اسلام کی دعوت دی وہ مسلمان ہوگیا، لیکن پھر مرتد ہوگیا۔ جب تین بار ایسا ہوا تو اس آیت سے دلیل لیتے ہوئے : { اِنَّ الَّذِیْنَ اٰمَنُوْا ثُمَّ کَفَرُوْا ثُمَّ اٰمَنُوْا ثُمَّ کَفَرُوْا ثُمَّ ازْدَادُوْا کُفْرًا لَّمْ یَکُنِ اللّٰہُ لِیَغْفِرَ لَھُمْ وَ لَا لِیَھْدِیَھُمْ سَبِیْلًا ۔ } [النساء ١٣٧] اسے قتل کردیا۔
(16892) Abu Ali Hamdani kehte hain ki Hazrat Fazala bin Ubaid (RA) ke paas ek aadmi laya gaya jo murtad ho gaya tha. Use Islam ki dawat di woh musalman ho gaya, lekin phir murtad ho gaya. Jab teen baar aisa hua to is ayat se daleel lete huye: { inna allazina amano summa kafaroo summa amano summa kafaroo summa izdadoo kufran lam yakunil lahu li yaghfira lahum wa la li yahdiyahum sabeelaa. } [Al-Nisa 137] use qatl kar diya.
