Chapter: Those Who Favored Increasing the Takbirs from Four to Dedicate Them to People of Virtue
باب من ذهب في زيادة التكبير على الأربع إلى تخصيص أهل الفضل بها
Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 6942
Abdullah bin Ma'qil narrated: Ali led the funeral prayer of Sahl bin Hunaif and offered six Takbirs. Then he looked at us and said, "He was one of the people of Badr."

(٦٩٤٢) عبداللہ بن معقل فرماتے ہیں : علی (رض) نے سہل بن حنیف کا جنازہ پڑھا، اس پر چھ تکبیرات پڑھیں ۔ پھر ہماری طرف دیکھا اور فرمایا : یہ اہل بدر میں سے ہے۔
(6942) Abdullah bin Maqal farmate hain : Ali (RA) ne Sahl bin Hanif ka janaza parha, is par chhe takbeerat parhin . Phir hamari taraf dekha aur farmaya : Ye ahl Badr mein se hai.
(6943) Abdullah bin Yazid narrates that Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) led the funeral prayer of Abu Qatada and said seven Takbirs over him, and he was a Badri (companion).
It has been narrated in a similar way, and it is wrong because Abu Qatada (may Allah be pleased with him) lived for a long time after Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), and it is narrated from Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said four Takbirs over Yazid bin Makhnaf.

(٦٩٤٣) عبداللہ بن یزید فرماتے ہیں کہ علی (رض) نے ابو قتادہ کا جنازہ پڑھا اور اس پر سات تکبیرات پڑھیں اور وہ بدری تھے۔
ایسے ہی بیان کیا گیا اور یہ غلط ہے کیونکہ ابو قتادہ (رض) ، علی (رض) کے بعد ایک عرصہ زندہ رہے اور علی (رض) سے منقول ہے کہ انھوں نے یزید بن مکفف پر چار تکبیرات کہیں۔
(6943) Abdullah bin Yazid farmate hain keh Ali (RA) ne Abu Qatada ka janaza parha aur is par saat takbeerat parhin aur wo Badri thay. Aise hi bayan kiya gaya aur yeh ghalat hai kyunkeh Abu Qatada (RA), Ali (RA) ke bad ek arsa zinda rahay aur Ali (RA) se manqol hai keh unhon ne Yazid bin Makfuf par chaar takbeerat kahin.
'Abdul Khayr 'Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to say six Takbirs over the people of Badr, five over the other Companions (may Allah be pleased with them), and four over the common people.

(٦٩٤٤) عبد خیر علی (رض) سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) اہلِ بدر پر چھ تکبیرات کہتے اور دیگر صحابہ (رض) پر پانچ تکبیرات کہتے اور عام لوگوں پر چار۔
6944 Abd Khair Ali (RA) se naql farmate hain ki aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) Ahle Badr par chhe takbeerat kehte aur degar sahaba (RA) par panch takbeerat kehte aur aam logon par chaar.
