Abdullah bin Abbas (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that the sun eclipsed in the lifetime of the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم). Allah's Apostle (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) offered the eclipse prayer and stood for a long period equal to the period in which one could recite Surat-al-Baqara. Then he bowed for a long time and then stood up for a long period which was shorter than that of the first standing, then bowed again for a long time but for a shorter period than the first; then he prostrated twice and then stood up for a long period which was shorter than that of the first standing; then he bowed for a long time which was shorter than the previous one, and then he raised his head and stood up for a long period which was shorter than the first standing, then he bowed for a long time which was shorter than the first bowing, and then prostrated (twice) and finished the prayer. By then, the sun (eclipse) had cleared. The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) then said, ‘the sun and the moon are two of the signs of Allah. They eclipse neither because of the death of somebody nor because of his birth. So, when you see them, remember Allah.’ The people said, ‘O Allah's Apostle (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم), we saw you taking something from your place and then we saw you retreating.’ The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) replied, "I saw Paradise and stretched my hands towards a bunch (of its fruits) and had I taken it, you would have eaten from it as long as the world remains. I also saw the Hell-fire and I had never seen such a horrible sight. I saw that most of the inhabitants were women.’ The people asked, ‘O Allah's Apostle (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم), why is it so?’ The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) replied, ‘because of their ungratefulness.’ It was asked whether they are ungrateful to Allah. The Prophet ( صلى ہللا عليه و آلهوسلم) said, ‘they are ungrateful to their companions of life (husbands) and ungrateful to good deeds. If you are benevolent to one of them throughout the life and if she sees anything (undesirable) in you, she will say, 'I have never had any good from you.'
حضرت عبداللہ بن عباس ؓ سے روایت ہے، انہوں نے فرمایا: نبی ﷺ کے عہد مبارک میں جب سورج بے نور ہوا تو رسول اللہ ﷺ نے نماز پڑھائی۔ آپ کا قیام سورہ بقرہ کی قراءت کی طرح طویل تھا۔ پھر آپ نے طویل رکوع کیا۔ اس کے بعد سر اٹھایا تو پھر دیر تک قیام کیا لیکن آپ کا یہ قیام پہلے قیام سے قدرے کم تھا۔ پھر آپ نے طویل رکوع کیا جو پہلے رکوع سے کچھ کم تھا۔ پھر آپ نے سجدہ فرمایا۔ بعد ازاں ایک طویل قیام کیا جو پہلے قیام سے قدرے کم تھا، پھر طویل رکوع کیا جو پہلے سے قدرے مختصر تھا، اس کے بعد سر اٹھا کر طویل قیام فرمایا جو پہلے قیام سے قدرے تھوڑا تھا، پھر لمبا رکوع کیا جو پہلے سے کچھ کم تھا اس کے بعد آپ نے سجدہ فرمایا۔ آپ نماز سے فارغ ہوئے تو سورج روشن ہو چکا تھا۔ آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا: ’’سورج اور چاند اللہ کی نشانیوں میں سے دو نشانیاں ہیں۔ یہ دونوں کسی کی موت و حیات کی وجہ سے بے نور نہیں ہوتے۔ جب تم اس قسم کا حادثہ دیکھو تو اللہ کو یاد کرو۔‘‘ صحابہ کرام ؓ نے عرض کیا: اللہ کے رسول! ہم نے آپ کو دیکھا کہ آپ نے اپنی جگہ کھڑے کھڑے کوئی چیز ہاتھ میں لی، پھر ہم نے آپ کو پیچھے ہٹتے ہوئے بھی دیکھا؟ آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا: ’’میں نے جنت کو دیکھا اور ایک خوشہ انگور کی طرف ہاتھ بڑھایا تھا، اگر میں اسے توڑ لیتا تو تم رہتی دنیا تک اسے کھاتے۔ اس کے بعد مجھے جہنم دکھائی گئی۔ میں نے آج تک اس سے زیادہ بھیانک منظر نہیں دیکھا۔ میں نے اہل دوزخ میں زیادہ تر عورتوں کی تعداد دیکھی۔‘‘ لوگوں نے عرض کیا: اللہ کے رسول! اس کی کیا وجہ ہے؟ آپ نے فرمایا: ’’اس کی وجہ ان کی ناشکری ہے۔‘‘ عرض کیا گیا: آیا وہ اللہ کی ناشکری کرتی ہیں؟ آپ نے فرمایا: ’’(نہیں بلکہ) وہ اپنے خاوند کی ناشکری کرتی ہیں اور ان کا احسان نہیں مانتیں۔ اگر تم کسی عورت کے ساتھ تمام عمر احسان کرو، پھر کبھی تمہاری طرف سے کوئی ناخوش گوار بات دیکھے تو فورا کہہ دے گی کہ میں نے تجھ سے کبھی کوئی بھلائی دیکھی ہی نہیں۔‘‘
Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbas (Radi Allahu Anhu) se riwayat hai, unhon ne farmaya: Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ke ahad-e-mubarak mein jab suraj be-noor hua to Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne namaz parhai. Aap ka qiyam Surah Baqarah ki qiraat ki tarah taweel tha. Phir Aap ne taweel ruku kiya. Is ke baad sar uthaya to phir der tak qiyam kiya lekin Aap ka ye qiyam pehle qiyam se qadray kam tha. Phir Aap ne taweel ruku kiya jo pehle ruku se kuch kam tha. Phir Aap ne sajda farmaya. Baad-azan ek taweel qiyam kiya jo pehle qiyam se qadray kam tha, phir taweel ruku kiya jo pehle se qadray mukhtasar tha, is ke baad sar utha kar taweel qiyam farmaya jo pehle qiyam se qadray thora tha, phir lamba ruku kiya jo pehle se kuch kam tha is ke baad Aap ne sajda farmaya. Aap namaz se farigh hue to suraj roshan ho chuka tha. Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya: ''Suraj aur chand Allah ki nishaniyon mein se do nishaniyan hain. Ye dono kisi ki maut-o-hayat ki wajah se be-noor nahi hote. Jab tum is qism ka hadisa dekho to Allah ko yaad karo.'' Sahaba-e-Karam (Radi Allahu Anhu) ne arz kiya: Allah ke Rasool! hum ne Aap ko dekha ke Aap ne apni jagah khare khare koi cheez hath mein li, phir hum ne Aap ko peeche hatte hue bhi dekha? Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya: ''Mein ne jannat ko dekha aur ek khosha-e-angoor ki taraf hath barhaya tha, agar mein usey tor leta to tum rehti duniya tak usey khate. Is ke baad mujhe jahannum dikhai gayi. Mein ne aaj tak is se ziada bhayanak manzar nahi dekha. Mein ne ahl-e-dozakh mein ziada-tar auraton ki tadaad dekhi.'' Logon ne arz kiya: Allah ke Rasool! is ki kya wajah hai? Aap ne farmaya: ''Is ki wajah un ki nashukri hai.'' Arz kiya gaya: Aaya wo Allah ki nashukri karti hain? Aap ne farmaya: ''(Nahi balki) wo apne khawand ki nashukri karti hain aur un ka ihsan nahi maantin. Agar tum kisi aurat ke sath tamam umr ihsan karo, phir kabhi tumhari taraf se koi na-khush-gawar baat dekhe to fauran keh de gi ke mein ne tujh se kabhi koi bhalai dekhi hi nahi.''
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : انْخَسَفَتِ الشَّمْسُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَصَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَامَ قِيَامًا طَوِيلًا نَحْوًا مِنْ قِرَاءَةِ سُورَةِ الْبَقَرَةِ ، ثُمَّ رَكَعَ رُكُوعًا طَوِيلًا ، ثُمَّ رَفَعَ فَقَامَ قِيَامًا طَوِيلًا وَهُوَ دُونَ الْقِيَامِ الْأَوَّلِ ، ثُمَّ رَكَعَ رُكُوعًا طَوِيلًا وَهُوَ دُونَ الرُّكُوعِ الْأَوَّلِ ، ثُمَّ سَجَدَ ، ثُمَّ قَامَ قِيَامًا طَوِيلًا وَهُوَ دُونَ الْقِيَامِ الْأَوَّلِ ، ثُمَّ رَكَعَ رُكُوعًا طَوِيلًا وَهُوَ دُونَ الرُّكُوعِ الْأَوَّلِ ، ثُمَّ رَفَعَ فَقَامَ قِيَامًا طَوِيلًا وَهُوَ دُونَ الْقِيَامِ الْأَوَّلِ ، ثُمَّ رَكَعَ رُكُوعًا طَوِيلًا وَهُوَ دُونَ الرُّكُوعِ الْأَوَّلِ ، ثُمَّ سَجَدَ ، ثُمَّ انْصَرَفَ وَقَدْ تَجَلَّتِ الشَّمْسُ ، فَقَالَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ آيَتَانِ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللَّهِ لَا يَخْسِفَانِ لِمَوْتِ أَحَدٍ وَلَا لِحَيَاتِهِ ، فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمْ ذَلِكَ فَاذْكُرُوا اللَّهَ ، قَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ رَأَيْنَاكَ تَنَاوَلْتَ شَيْئًا فِي مَقَامِكَ ، ثُمَّ رَأَيْنَاكَ كَعْكَعْتَ ، قَالَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : إِنِّي رَأَيْتُ الْجَنَّةَ فَتَنَاوَلْتُ عُنْقُودًا وَلَوْ أَصَبْتُهُ لَأَكَلْتُمْ مِنْهُ مَا بَقِيَتِ الدُّنْيَا ، وَأُرِيتُ النَّارَ فَلَمْ أَرَ مَنْظَرًا كَالْيَوْمِ قَطُّ أَفْظَعَ ، وَرَأَيْتُ أَكْثَرَ أَهْلِهَا النِّسَاءَ ، قَالُوا : بِمَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : بِكُفْرِهِنَّ ، قِيلَ : يَكْفُرْنَ بِاللَّهِ ، قَالَ : يَكْفُرْنَ الْعَشِيرَ وَيَكْفُرْنَ الْإِحْسَانَ لَوْ أَحْسَنْتَ إِلَى إِحْدَاهُنَّ الدَّهْرَ كُلَّهُ ، ثُمَّ رَأَتْ مِنْكَ شَيْئًا قَالَتْ مَا رَأَيْتُ مِنْكَ خَيْرًا قَطُّ .
