Chapter: Performing Hajj for a person who cannot sit firmly on the mount

باب الْحَجِّ عَمَّنْ لاَ يَسْتَطِيعُ الثُّبُوتَ عَلَى الرَّاحِلَةِ

Ibn Abbas (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that a woman from the tribe of Khath'am came in the year (of Hajjat-al-Wada of the Prophet ﷺ) and said, ‘O Allah's Apostle (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم), my father has come under Allah's obligation of performing Hajj, but he is an old man and cannot sit properly on his Mount. Will the obligation be fulfilled if I perform Hajj on his behalf?’ The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) replied in the affirmative.

حضرت ابن عباس  ؓ سے روایت ہے، وہ حضرت فضل بن عباس  ؓ سے بیان کرتے ہیں کہ ایک خاتون (قبیلہ خثعم سے حجۃ الوداع کے موقع پر آئی اور کہنے لگی۔۔۔ )

Hazrat Ibn Abbas (Radi Allahu Anhu) se riwayat hai, wo Hazrat Fazl bin Abbas (Radi Allahu Anhu) se bayan karte hain ke ek khatoon (qabila-e-Khath'am se Hajjat-ul-Wada ke mauqe par aayi aur kehne lagi...)

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، عَنْ الْفَضْلِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ : أَنَّ امْرَأَةً . ح .

Abdullah bin Abbas (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that Al-Fadl (Al-Abbas) ( رضئہللا تعالی عنہ) was riding behind the Prophet (ﷺ) and a woman from the tribe of Khath'am came up. Al-Fadl started looking at her and she looked at him. The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) turned Al-Fadl's (Al-Abbas) (رضي الله تعالى عنه) face to the other side. She said, ‘my father has come under Allah's obligation of performing Hajj but he is a very old man and cannot sit properly on his Mount. Shall I perform Hajj on his behalf? The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) replied in the affirmative. That happened during Hajjat-al-Wada of the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم).

حضرت فضل بن عباس  ؓ سے روایت ہے کہ حجۃ الوداع کے موقع پر قبیلہ خثعم کی ایک عورت آئی اور عرض کیا: اللہ کے رسول اللہ ﷺ ! اللہ کی طرف سے اس کے بندوں پر عائد کردہ فریضہ حج نے میرے باپ کو اس حالت میں پایا ہے کہ کہ وہ بہت بوڑھا ہو چکا ہےاور سواری پر ٹھہر نہیں سکتا۔ اگر میں اس کی طرف سے حج کروں تو ادا ہو جائے گا؟ آپ نے فرمایا: ’’ہاں۔‘‘

Hazrat Fazl bin Abbas (Radi Allahu Anhu) se riwayat hai ke Hajjat-ul-Wada ke mauqe par qabila-e-Khath'am ki ek aurat aayi aur arz kiya: Allah ke Rasool (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam)! Allah ki taraf se is ke bandon par aa'id karda fareezah-e-hajj ne mere baap ko is haalat mein paya hai ke wo bahut burha ho chuka hai aur sawari par theher nahi sakta. Agar main is ki taraf se hajj karoon to ada ho jaye ga? Aap ne farmaya: "Haan."

حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنَ يَسَارٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : جَاءَتِ امْرَأَةٌ مِنْ خَثْعَمَ عَامَ حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ ، قَالَتْ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّ فَرِيضَةَ اللَّهِ عَلَى عِبَادِهِ فِي الْحَجِّ ، أَدْرَكَتْ أَبِي شَيْخًا كَبِيرًا ، لَا يَسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ يَسْتَوِيَ عَلَى الرَّاحِلَةِ ، فَهَلْ يَقْضِي عَنْهُ أَنْ أَحُجَّ عَنْهُ ؟ قَالَ : نَعَمْ .
