Jabir (رضي الله تعالى عنه) reported that Allah's Apostle (صلى هللا عليه و آله وسلم) came to visit me while I was sick and unconscious. He performed ablution and sprinkled the remaining water on me and I became conscious and said, "O Allah's Apostle (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)! To whom will my inheritance go as I have neither ascendants nor descendants?" Then the Divine verses regarding Fara'id (inheritance) were revealed.
حضرت جابر ؓ سے روایت ہے، انھوں نے فرمایا: رسول اللہ ﷺ میری عیادت کے لیے تشریف لائے، میں ایسا سخت بیمار تھا کہ کوئی بات نہ سمجھ سکتا تھا۔ آپ نے وضو فرمایا اور وضو سے بچا ہوا پانی مجھ پر چھڑکا تو میں ہوش میں آ گیا۔ میں نے عرض کیا: اے اللہ کے رسول! میرا وارث کون ہو گا؟ میرا تو کوئی کلالہ ہی وارث بنے گا، تب آیت وراثت نازل ہوئی۔
Hazrat Jabir (Radi Allahu Anhu) se riwayat hai, unhon ne farmaya: Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) meri iyadat ke liye tashreef laaye, main aisa sakht bimaar tha ke koi baat na samajh sakta tha. Aap ne wudu farmaya aur wudu se bacha hua paani mujh par chhidka toh main hosh mein aa gaya. Maine arz kiya: Aye Allah ke Rasool! Mera waaris kaun hoga? Mera toh koi kalalah hi waaris banega, tab aayat wirasat nazil hui.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ جَابِرًا ، يَقُولُ : جَاءَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَعُودُنِي وَأَنَا مَرِيضٌ لَا أَعْقِلُ ، فَتَوَضَّأَ وَصَبَّ عَلَيَّ مِنْ وَضُوئِهِ ، فَعَقَلْتُ ، فَقُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، لِمَنِ الْمِيرَاثُ ؟ إِنَّمَا يَرِثُنِي كَلَالَةٌ ، فَنَزَلَتْ آيَةُ الْفَرَائِضِ .
