Amr bin Maimun (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that Umar (رضي الله تعالى عنه) (after he was stabbed), instructed (his would-be-successor) saying, ‘I urge him (the new Caliph) to take care of those non-Muslims who are under the protection of Allah and His Apostle ( صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) in that he should observe the convention agreed upon with them, and fight on their behalf (to secure their safety) and he should not over-tax them beyond their capability.’
حضرت عمر ؓسے روایت ہے، انھوں نے فرمایا کہ میں اپنے بعد آنے والے خلیفہ کو اس امر کی وصیت کرتا ہوں کہ اللہ اور اس کے رسول اللہ ﷺ کا (اہل ذمہ سے) جو عہد و پیمان ہے وہ اسے پورا کرے اور ان کی حمایت کرتےہوئے دشمنوں سے جنگ کرے اور انھیں ان کی طاقت سے زیادہ تکلیف نہ دی جائے۔
Hazrat Umar (Radi Allahu Anhu) se riwayat hai, unhon ne farmaya ke mein apne baad aane wale khalifa ko is amr ki wasiyat karta hoon ke Allah aur us ke Rasul Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ka (ahl-e-zimmah se) jo ehd-o-paiman hai wo isay poora kare aur in ki himayat karte hue dushmanon se jung kare aur inhein in ki taqat se zyada takleef na di jaye.
حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، عَنْ حُصَيْنٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : وَأُوصِيهِ بِذِمَّةِ اللَّهِ وَذِمَّةِ رَسُولِهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يُوفَى لَهُمْ بِعَهْدِهِمْ ، وَأَنْ يُقَاتَلَ مِنْ وَرَائِهِمْ وَلَا يُكَلَّفُوا إِلَّا طَاقَتَهُمْ .
