Narrated Abu Huraira: Some people asked the Prophet: Who is the most honorable amongst the people? He replied, The most honorable among them is the one who is the most Allah-fearing. They said, O Allah's Prophet! We do not ask about this. He said, Then the most honorable person is Joseph, Allah's Prophet, the son of Allah's Prophet, the son of Allah's Prophet, the son of Allah's Khalil. They said, We do not ask about this. He said, Then you want to ask me about the Arabs' descent? They said, Yes. He said, Those who were best in the pre-lslamic period, are the best in Islam, if they comprehend (the religious knowledge).
حضرت ابو ہریرہ ؓسے روایت ہے، انھوں نے کہا: نبی ﷺ سے عرض کیا گیا: لوگوں میں سے سب سے زیادہ مکرم کون ہے؟ آپ نے فرمایا: ’’ان میں زیادہ معزز و محترم وہ ہے جو اللہ تعالیٰ سے زیادہ ڈرنے والا ہو۔‘‘ انھوں نے عرض کیا: اللہ کے رسول اللہ ﷺ! ہم آپ سے یہ نہیں پوچھتے۔ آپ نے فرمایا: ’’لوگوں میں سب سے زیادہ مکرم یوسف بن نبی اللہ بن نبی اللہ بن نبی اللہ بن خلیل اللہ ہیں۔‘‘ لوگوں نے کہا: ہم آپ سے اس کے متعلق بھی نہیں پوچھ رہے۔ (ہمارا مقصد یہ بھی نہیں۔) تو آپ نے فرمایا: ’’تم خاندان عرب کے متعلق پوچھ رہے ہو؟‘‘ انھوں نے کہا: جی ہاں، تو آپ نے فرمایا: ’’تم میں سے جو جاہلیت میں اچھے تھے وہ اسلام میں بھی اچھے ہیں بشرطیکہ وہ دین میں فقاہت حاصل کریں۔‘‘
Hazrat Abu Hurairah (Radi Allahu Anhu) se riwayat hai, unhon ne kaha: Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) se arz kiya gaya: Logon mein se sab se ziyada mukarram kon hai? Aap ne farmaya: "In mein ziyada mo'azzaz-o-mohtaram wo hai jo Allah Ta'ala se ziyada darne wala ho." Unhon ne arz kiya: Allah ke Rasool (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam)! Hum Aap se ye nahi poochte. Aap ne farmaya: "Logon mein sab se ziyada mukarram Yusuf (Alaihis Salam) bin Nabi Allah (Alaihis Salam) bin Nabi Allah (Alaihis Salam) bin Nabi Allah (Alaihis Salam) bin Khaleel-ul-Allah (Alaihis Salam) hain." Logon ne kaha: Hum Aap se is ke mutalliq bhi nahi pooch rahe. (Hamara maqsad ye bhi nahi.) To Aap ne farmaya: "Tum khandan-e-Arab ke mutalliq pooch rahe ho?" Unhon ne kaha: Ji haan, to Aap ne farmaya: "Tum mein se jo jahiliyat mein acche the wo Islam mein bhi acche hain bashart-e-ke wo deen mein fiqahat hasil karein."
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ سَمِعَ الْمُعْتَمِرَ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : قِيلَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ أَكْرَمُ النَّاسِ ، قَالَ : أَكْرَمُهُمْ أَتْقَاهُمْ ، قَالُوا : يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ لَيْسَ عَنْ هَذَا نَسْأَلُكَ ، قَالَ : فَأَكْرَمُ النَّاسِ يُوسُفُ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ ابْنُ نَبِيِّ اللَّهِ ابْنِ نَبِيِّ اللَّهِ ابْنِ خَلِيلِ اللَّهِ ، قَالُوا : لَيْسَ عَنْ هَذَا نَسْأَلُكَ ، قَالَ : فَعَنْ مَعَادِنِ الْعَرَبِ تَسْأَلُونِي ، قَالُوا : نَعَمْ ، قَالَ : فَخِيَارُكُمْ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ خِيَارُكُمْ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ إِذَا فَقُهُوا .
