Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Messenger was asked, Who are the most honorable of the people? The Prophet said, The most honorable of them in Allah's Sight are those who keep their duty to Allah and fear Him. They said, We do not ask you about that. He said, Then the most honorable of the people is Joseph, Allah's prophet, the son of Allah's prophet, the son of Allah's prophet, the son of Allah's Khalil i.e. Abraham) They said, We do not ask you about that. The Prophet said, Do you ask about (the virtues of the ancestry of the Arabs? They said, Yes, He said, Those who were the best amongst you in the Prelslamic Period are the best amongst you in Islam if they comprehend (the Islamic religion).
حضرت ابوہریرہ ؓ سے روایت ہے، انہوں نے کہا: رسول اللہ ﷺ سے دریافت کیا گیا کہ لوگوں میں کون سب سے زیادہ باعزت اور معزز ہے؟ آپ نے فرمایا: ’’اللہ کے نزدیک سب سے زیادہ باعزت اور معزز وہ شخص ہے جو اللہ تعالٰی سے زیادہ ڈرنے والا ہو۔‘‘ لوگوں نے کہا: ہم نے آپ سے اس کے متعلق سوال نہیں کیا۔ آپ نے فرمایا: ’’پھر سب سے زیادہ معزز اور بزرگ حضرت یوسف ؑ جو اللہ کے نبی ہیں اور اللہ کے نبی کے بیٹے، اللہ کے نبی کے پوتے اور خلیل اللہ کے پڑپوتے ہیں۔‘‘ لوگوں نے کہا: ہمارے سوال کا مقصد یہ بھی نہیں۔ آپ نے فرمایا: ’’اچھا تم لوگ عرب کے خانوادوں کے متعلق مجھ سے پوچھتے ہو؟‘‘ لوگوں نے کہا: جی ہاں، آپ نے فرمایا: ’’جو لوگ زمانہ جاہلیت میں معزز اور بزرگ خیال کیے جاتے تھے اسلام لانے کے بعد بھی وہ معزز ہیں، بشرطیکہ دین میں سمجھ حاصل کر لیں۔‘‘ ابو اسامہ نے عبیداللہ سے روایت کرنے میں عبدۃ کی متابعت کی ہے۔
Hazrat Abu Hurairah (Radi Allahu Anhu) se riwayat hai, unhon ne kaha: Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) se daryaft kiya gaya ke logon mein kon sab se zyada ba-izzat aur muazzaz hai? Aap ne farmaya: ''Allah ke nazdeek sab se zyada ba-izzat aur muazzaz woh shakhs hai jo Allah Tala se zyada darne wala ho.'' Logon ne kaha: Hum ne aap se is ke mutaliq sawal nahi kiya. Aap ne farmaya: ''Phir sab se zyada muazzaz aur buzurg Hazrat Yusuf (Alaihis Salam) jo Allah ke Nabi hain aur Allah ke Nabi ke bete, Allah ke Nabi ke pote aur Khaleel-ullah ke par-pote hain.'' Logon ne kaha: Hamare sawal ka maqsad yeh bhi nahi. Aap ne farmaya: ''Acha tum log Arab ke khanwadon ke mutaliq mujh se poochte ho?'' Logon ne kaha: Ji haan, aap ne farmaya: ''Jo log zamana-e-jahiliyat mein muazzaz aur buzurg khayal kiye jate thay Islam lane ke baad bhi woh muazzaz hain, bashart-e-ke deen mein samajh hasil kar len.'' Abu Usama ne Ubaidullah se riwayat karne mein Abda ki mutabi'at ki hai.
حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدٌ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدَةُ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَيُّ النَّاسِ أَكْرَمُ ؟ قَالَ : أَكْرَمُهُمْ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ أَتْقَاهُمْ ، قَالُوا : لَيْسَ عَنْ هَذَا نَسْأَلُكَ ، قَالَ : فَأَكْرَمُ النَّاسِ يُوسُفُ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ ، ابْنُ نَبِيِّ اللَّهِ ، ابْنِ نَبِيِّ اللَّهِ ، ابْنِ خَلِيلِ اللَّهِ ، قَالُوا : لَيْسَ عَنْ هَذَا نَسْأَلُكَ ، قَالَ : فَعَنْ مَعَادِنِ الْعَرَبِ تَسْأَلُونِي ؟ قَالُوا : نَعَمْ ، قَالَ : فَخِيَارُكُمْ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ ، خِيَارُكُمْ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ إِذَا فَقِهُوا . تَابَعَهُ أَبُو أُسَامَةَ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ .
