Narrated 'Amir bin Sa`d: that his father said, In the year of Hajjatal-Wada`, the Prophet paid me a visit while I was suffering from an ailment that had brought me to the verge of death. I said, 'O Allah's Apostle! My sickness has reduced me to the (bad) state as you see, and I am a rich man, but have no heirs except one daughter. Shall I give 2/3 of my property in charity?' He said, 'No.' I said, 'Then 1/2 of it?' He said, 'Even 1/3 is too much, for, to leave your inheritors wealthy is better than to leave them in poverty, begging from people. And (know that) whatever you spend in Allah's Cause, you will get reward for it, even for the morsel of food which you put in your wife's mouth.' I said, 'O Allah's Apostle! Will I be left behind my companions (in Mecca)?' He said, 'If you remain behind, whatever good deed you will do for Allah's Sake, will raise and upgrade you to a higher position (in Allah's Sight). May be you will live longer so that some people may benefit by you, and some e others (pagans) may get harmed by you. O Allah! Complete the migration of my companions and do not turn them on their heels; But (we pity) the poor Sa`d bin Khaula (not the above mentioned Sa`d) (died in Mecca) Allah's Apostle lamented (or pitied) for him as he died in Mecca. حضرت سعد بن ابی وقاص ؓ سے روایت ہے، انہوں نے کہا کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ حجتہ الوادع کے موقع پر میری عیادت کے لیے تشریف لائے۔ میری اس بیماری نے مجھے موت کے قریب کر دیا تھا۔ میں نے عرض کی: اللہ کے رسول! آپ خود مشاہدہ فرما رہے ہیں کہ بیماری نے مجھے کہاں تک پہنچا دیا ہے۔ میں صاحب ثروت ہوں اور میری ایک ہی بیٹی میری وارث ہے۔ کیا میں اپنا دو تہائی مال صدقہ کر دوں؟ آپ نے فرمایا: ”نہیں“ میں نے عرض کی: اپنا نصف مال دے دوں؟ آپ نے فرمایا: ”نہیں“ میں نے عرض کی: ایک تہائی دے سکتا ہوں؟ آپ نے فرمایا: ”ایک تہائی بہت ہے۔ اگر تم ورثاء کو مال دار چھوڑو تو یہ اس سے بہتر ہے کہ تم ان کو محتاج چھوڑو کہ وہ لوگوں کے سامنے ہاتھ پھیلاتے پھریں۔ یقیناً تم جو کچھ بھی خرچ کرو گے اگر اس سے مقصود اللہ کی رضا ہوئی تو تمہیں اس پر ثواب ملے گا یہاں تک کہ اگر تم اپنی بیوی کے منہ میں لقمہ رکھو گے تو اس بھی ثواب ملے گا۔“ میں نے پوچھا: کیا میں اپنے ساتھیوں سے پیچھے چھوڑ دیا جاؤں گا؟ آپ نے فرمایا: اگر تم پیچھے چھوڑ دیے جاؤ اور پھر کوئی عمل کرو جس سے مقصود اللہ کی رضا ہو تو تمہارا مرتبہ اور درجہ مزید بلند ہوگا امید ہے کہ تم ابھی زندہ رہو گے اور کچھ قومیں تم سے نفع حاصل کریں گی جبکہ کچھ لوگ تمہاری وجہ سے نقصان میں رہیں گے۔ ”اے اللہ! میرے صحابہ کی ہجرت کو بار آور کر دے اور انہیں الٹے پاؤں نہ پھیرنا۔ البتہ مجھے سعد بن خولہ ؓ کا بہت افسوس ہے۔“ حضرت سعد ؓ نے کہا: آپ ﷺ نے ان پر اظہار افسوس اس لیے کیا تھا کہ ان کا انتقال مکہ مکرمہ میں ہوگیا تھا۔
Hazrat Saad bin Abi Waqas (Radi Allahu Anhu) se riwayat hai, unhon ne kaha ke Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) hujjatu-ul-wada ke mauqe par meri iyadat ke liye tashreef laye. Meri is bimari ne mujhe maut ke qareeb kar diya tha. Main ne arz ki: Allah ke Rasool! Aap khud mushahida farma rahe hain ke bimari ne mujhe kahan tak pohancha diya hai. Main sahab-e-tharwat hoon aur meri ek hi beti meri waris hai. Kya main apna do tihai maal sadqa kar doon? Aap ne farmaya: ”Nahi” main ne arz ki: Apna nisf maal de doon? Aap ne farmaya: ”Nahi” main ne arz ki: Ek tihai de sakta hoon? Aap ne farmaya: ”Ek tihai bahut hai. Agar tum wuratha ko maal-daar chhoro to yeh us se behtar hai ke tum un ko muhtaj chhoro ke woh logon ke samne haath phailate phirein. Yaqeenan tum jo kuch bhi kharch karo ge agar us se maqsood Allah ki raza hui to tumhein is par sawab mile ga yahan tak ke agar tum apni biwi ke munh mein luqma rakho ge to us bhi sawab mile ga.” Main ne pucha: Kya main apne saathiyon se peeche chhor diya jaon ga? Aap ne farmaya: Agar tum peeche chhor diye jao aur phir koi amal karo jis se maqsood Allah ki raza ho to tumhara martaba aur darja mazeed buland hoga umeed hai ke tum abhi zinda raho ge aur kuch qaumein tum se nafa haasil karein gi jabke kuch log tumhari wajah se nuqsan mein rahein ge. ”Ae Allah! Mere Sahaba ki hijrat ko baar-aawar kar de aur unhein ulte paon na pherna. Albatta mujhe Saad bin Khawla (Radi Allahu Anhu) ka bahut afsos hai.” Hazrat Saad (Radi Allahu Anhu) ne kaha: Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ne un par izhaar-e-afsos is liye kiya tha ke un ka intiqal Makkah Mukarrama mein hogaya tha.
