Narrated Ibn `Umar: Allah's Apostle sent an army detachment and made Usama bin Zaid its commander. Some people criticized (spoke badly of) Usama's leadership. So Allah's Apostle got up saying, If you people are criticizing Usama's leadership, you have already criticized the leadership of his father before. But Waaimullah (i.e., By Allah), he (i.e. Zaid) deserved the leadership, and he was one of the most beloved persons to me; and now this (his son Usama) is one of the dearest persons to me after him. (See Hadith No. 765, Vol. 5)
حضرت ابن عمر ؓ سے روایت ہے انہوں نے کہا: رسول اللہ ﷺ نے ایک لشکر روانہ کیا اور اس کا امیر حضرت اسامہ بن زید ؓ کو بنایا۔ کچھ لوگوں نے حضرت اسامہ کی امارت پر اعتراض کیا تو رسول اللہ ﷺ خطبہ دینے کے لیے کھڑے ہوئے اور فرمایا: ”اگر تم اسامہ کی امارت پر اعتراض کرتے ہو تو تم قبل ازیں اس کے والد کی امارت بھی اعتراض کرتے ہو۔ اللہ کی قسم! وہ (زید ؓ) امیر بنائے جانے کے قابل تھے اور مجھے سب لوگوں سے زیادہ عزیز تھے اوریہ (اسامہ) ان کے بعد مجھے سب لوگوں سے زیادہ محبوب ہے۔“
Hazrat Ibn Umar (Razi Allahu Anhu) se riwayat hai unhon ne kaha: Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne ek lashkar rawana kiya aur is ka ameer Hazrat Usama bin Zaid (Razi Allahu Anhu) ko banaya. Kuch logon ne Hazrat Usama ki imarat par aetiraz kiya toh Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) khutba dene ke liye khade hue aur farmaya: 'Agar tum Usama ki imarat par aetiraz karte ho toh tum qabal-az-een is ke waalid ki imarat par bhi aetiraz karte the. Allah ki qasam! woh (Zaid Razi Allahu Anhu) ameer banaye jane ke qabil the aur mujhe sab logon se zyada azeez the aur yeh (Usama) un ke baad mujhe sab logon se zyada mehboob hai.'
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، قَالَ : بَعَثَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعْثًا ، وَأَمَّرَ عَلَيْهِمْ أُسَامَةَ بْنَ زَيْدٍ ، فَطَعَنَ بَعْضُ النَّاسِ فِي إِمْرَتِهِ ، فَقَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : إِنْ كُنْتُمْ تَطْعَنُونَ فِي إِمْرَتِهِ ، فَقَدْ كُنْتُمْ تَطْعَنُونَ فِي إِمْرَةِ أَبِيهِ مِنْ قَبْلُ ، وَايْمُ اللَّهِ ، إِنْ كَانَ لَخَلِيقًا لِلْإِمَارَةِ ، وَإِنْ كَانَ لَمِنْ أَحَبِّ النَّاسِ إِلَيَّ ، وَإِنَّ هَذَا لَمِنْ أَحَبِّ النَّاسِ إِلَيَّ بَعْدَهُ .
