Chapter: The delegation of Banu Hanifa

باب وَفْدِ بَنِي حَنِيفَةَ، وَحَدِيثِ ثُمَامَةَ بْنِ أُثَالٍ
Sahih al-Bukhari 4374
I asked about the statement of Allah's Apostle : You seem to be the same person who was shown to me in my dream, and Abu Huraira informed me that Allah's Apostle said, When I was sleeping, I saw (in a dream) two bangles of gold on my hands and that worried me. And then I was inspired Divinely in the dream that I should blow on them, so I blew on them and both the bangles flew away. And I interpreted it that two liars (who would claim to be prophets) would appear after me. One of them has proved to be Al Ansi and the other, Musailima.
حضرت ابن عباس ؓ کہتے ہیں کہ اس کے بعد میں نے رسول اللہ ﷺ کے اس فرمان کا مطلب دریافت کیا: ’’تو وہی شخص ہے جس کا حال مجھے خواب میں بتایا گیا ہے۔‘‘ تو حضرت ابوہریرہ ؓ نے مجھے بتایا کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا: ’’ایک مرتبہ میں سو رہا تھا کہ میں نے بحالت خواب اپنے ہاتھ میں سونے کے دو کنگن دیکھے۔ میں اس سے فکر مند ہوا۔ پھر خواب ہی میں مجھے بذریعہ وحی ارشاد ہوا کہ ان دونوں پر پھونک مارو۔ میں نے پھونک ماری تو وہ دونوں اڑ گئے۔ میں نے اس کی تعبیر یہ سمجھی کہ میرے بعد دو جھوٹے شخص نبوت کا دعویٰ کریں گے: ایک اسود عنسی اور دوسرا مسیلمہ کذاب ہو گا۔‘‘
Hazrat Ibn Abbas (Radi Allahu Anhu) kehte hain ke is ke baad main ne Rasul Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ke is farman ka matlab daryaft kiya: "Tu wahi shakhs hai jis ka haal mujhe khawab mein bataya gaya hai." to Hazrat Abu Hurairah (Radi Allahu Anhu) ne mujhe bataya ke Rasul Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya: "Ek martaba main so raha tha ke main ne be-halat-e-khawab apne haath mein sone ke do kangan dekhe. Main is se fikr-mand hua. Phir khawab hi mein mujhe bazariya-e-wahee irshad hua ke in donon par phoonk maaro. Main ne phoonk maari to wo donon urr gaye. Main ne is ki tabeer yeh samjhi ke mere baad do jhoote shakhs nabuwat ka dawa karein ge: ek Aswad Ansi aur dusra Musailama Kazzab hoga."
قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ : فَسَأَلْتُ عَنْ قَوْلِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : إِنَّكَ أُرَى الَّذِي أُرِيتُ فِيهِ مَا أَرَيْتُ ، فَأَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : بَيْنَا أَنَا نَائِمٌ ، رَأَيْتُ فِي يَدَيَّ سِوَارَيْنِ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ ، فَأَهَمَّنِي شَأْنُهُمَا ، فَأُوحِيَ إِلَيَّ فِي الْمَنَامِ أَنِ انْفُخْهُمَا فَنَفَخْتُهُمَا ، فَطَارَا ، فَأَوَّلْتُهُمَا كَذَّابَيْنِ يَخْرُجَانِ بَعْدِي ، أَحَدُهُمَا الْعَنْسِيُّ وَالْآخَرُ مُسَيْلِمَةُ .
