باب قَوْلِهِ {إِنَّ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةَ مِنْ شَعَائِرِ اللَّهِ فَمَنْ حَجَّ الْبَيْتَ أَوِ اعْتَمَرَ فَلاَ جُنَاحَ عَلَيْهِ أَنْ يَطَّوَّفَ بِهِمَا وَمَنْ تَطَوَّعَ خَيْرًا فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ شَاكِرٌ عَلِيمٌ}

Sahih al-Bukhari 4496
Narrated `Asim bin Sulaiman: I asked Anas bin Malik about Safa and Marwa. Anas replied, We used to consider (i.e. going around) them a custom of the Pre-islamic period of Ignorance, so when Islam came, we gave up going around them. Then Allah revealed Verily, Safa and Marwa (i.e. two mountains at Mecca) are among the Symbols of Allah. So it is not harmful of those who perform the Hajj of the House (of Allah) or perform the Umra to ambulate (Tawaf) between them. (2.158)
حضرت عاصم بن سلیمان سے روایت ہے، انہوں نے کہا: میں نے حضرت انس ؓ سے صفا اور مروہ کی سعی کے متعلق دریافت کیا تو انہوں نے فرمایا: ہم ان کے درمیان سعی کرنے کو جاہلیت کے کاموں سے سمجھتے تھے۔ جب اسلام آیا تو ہم ان کے درمیان سعی کرنے سے رُک گئے۔ اس پر اللہ تعالٰی نے یہ آیت نازل فرمائی: "بےشک صفا اور مروہ اللہ کی (عظمت کی) نشانیوں میں سے ہیں، لہذا جو کوئی بیت اللہ کا حج یا عمرہ کرے اسے (ان کے درمیان سعی کرنے میں) کوئی گناہ نہیں۔"
Hazrat Asim bin Sulaiman se riwayat hai, unhon ne kaha: Main ne Hazrat Anas (Radi Allahu Anhu) se Safa aur Marwah ki sa'ee ke mutaliq daryaft kiya to unhon ne farmaya: Hum un ke darmiyan sa'ee karne ko jahiliyat ke kaamon se samajhte the. Jab Islam aaya to hum un ke darmiyan sa'ee karne se ruk gaye. Is par Allah Ta'ala ne yeh ayat nazil farmai: "Beshak Safa aur Marwah Allah ki (azmat ki) nishaniyon mein se hain, lehaza jo koi Baitullah ka Hajj ya Umrah kare ise (un ke darmiyan sa'ee karne mein) koi gunah nahi."
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ , حَدَّثَنَا سَفيانُ , عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ , قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ , عَنْ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ ،فَقَالَ : كُنَّا نَرَى أَنَّهُمَا مِنْ أَمْرِ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ ، فَلَمَّا كَانَ الْإِسْلَامُ أَمْسَكْنَا عَنْهُمَا ، فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى : إِنَّ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةَ مِنْ شَعَائِرِ اللَّهِ فَمَنْ حَجَّ الْبَيْتَ أَوِ اعْتَمَرَ فَلا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْهِ أَنْ يَطَّوَّفَ بِهِمَا سورة البقرة آية 158 .
