باب قَوْلِهِ {وَقَاتِلُوهُمْ حَتَّى لاَ تَكُونَ فِتْنَةٌ وَيَكُونَ الدِّينُ لِلَّهِ فَإِنِ انْتَهَوْا فَلاَ عُدْوَانَ إِلاَّ عَلَى الظَّالِمِينَ}
Sahih al-Bukhari 4515
Then that person asked, "Alright, tell me, what is your belief regarding Uthman and Ali (may Allah be pleased with them)?" They replied, "Allah has forgiven the mistake of Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him), but you do not consider this forgiveness good. As for Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), he was the paternal cousin, son-in-law, and nephew of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). It was indicated by gestures that look, his house is adjacent to the house of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)."
اس شخص نے کہا: حضرت علی اور حضرت عثمان ؓ کے متعلق تمہاری کیا رائے ہے؟ حضرت ابن عمر ؓ نے فرمایا: حضرت عثمان ؓ (کے فرار) کو تو اللہ تعالٰی نے معاف کر دیا ہے لیکن اللہ کی معافی کو تم لوگ پسند نہیں کرتے۔ اب رہے سیدنا علی ؓ تو وہ رسول اللہ ﷺ کے چچا زاد بھائی اور آپ کے داماد ہیں۔ پھر آپ نے اپنے ہاتھ سے اشارہ کیا کہ یہ دیکھو ان کا گھر (رسول اللہ ﷺ کے گھر سے متصل) ہے۔
Us shakhs ne kaha: Hazrat Ali aur Hazrat Usman (Radi Allahu Anhum) ke mutaliq tumhari kya raye hai? Hazrat Ibn Umar (Radi Allahu Anhu) ne farmaya: Hazrat Usman (Radi Allahu Anhu) (ke firar) ko to Allah Ta'ala ne maaf kar diya hai lekin Allah ki maafi ko tum log pasand nahi karte. Ab rahe Sayyidna Ali (Radi Allahu Anhu) to woh Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ke chacha-zad bhai aur Aap ke damad hain. Phir Aap ne apne hath se ishaara kiya ke yeh dekho un ka ghar (Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ke ghar se muttasil) hai.
قَالَ : فَمَا قَوْلُكَ فِي عَلِيٍّ وَعُثْمَانَ , قَالَ : أَمَّا عُثْمَانُ , فَكَأَنَّ اللَّهَ عَفَا عَنْهُ ، وَأَمَّا أَنْتُمْ فَكَرِهْتُمْ أَنْ تَعْفُوا عَنْهُ ، وَأَمَّا عَلِيٌّ , فَابْنُ عَمِّ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَخَتَنُهُ ، وَأَشَارَ بِيَدِهِ ، فَقَالَ : هَذَا بَيْتُهُ حَيْثُ تَرَوْنَ .
