The Statement of Allah the Exalted: "Move not your tongue concerning (the Qur'an, O Muḥammad pbuh) to make haste therewith." (V.75:16)

Sahih al-Bukhari 4927
Narrated Ibn `Abbas: The Prophet used to move his tongue when the divine Inspiration was being revealed to him. (Sufyan, a subnarrator, demonstrated (how the Prophet used to move his lips) and added. In order to memorize it. So Allah revealed: Move not your tongue concerning (the Qur'an) to make haste therewith. (75.16)
حضرت ابن عباس ؓ سے روایت ہے، انہوں نے کہا: جب نبی ﷺ پر وحی نازل ہوتی تو آپ (اس کو یاد کرنے کے لیے) اپنی زبان کو حرکت دیا کرتے تھے۔ سفیان نے بیان کیا کہ آپ کا مقصد اس وحی کو یاد کرنا ہوتا۔ اس پر اللہ تعالٰی نے یہ آیات نازل فرمائیں: ’’آپ قرآن کو جلدی یاد کر لینے کی نیت سے اپنی زبان کو حرکت نہ دیں۔‘‘
Hazrat Ibn Abbas (Radiyallahu Anhu) se riwayat hai, unhon ne kaha: Jab Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) par wahyi nazil hoti to aap (is ko yaad karne ke liye) apni zaban ko harakat diya karte thay. Sufyan ne bayan kiya ke aap ka maqsad is wahyi ko yaad karna hota. Is par Allah Ta'ala ne yeh aayaat nazil farmaayin: ''Aap Quran ko jaldi yaad kar lene ki niyat se apni zaban ko harakat na den.''
حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ أَبِي عَائِشَةَ ، وَكَانَ ثِقَةً ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، قَالَ : كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا نَزَلَ عَلَيْهِ الْوَحْيُ حَرَّكَ بِهِ لِسَانَهُ ، وَوَصَفَ سُفْيَانُ يُرِيدُ أَنْ يَحْفَظَهُ ، فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ لا تُحَرِّكْ بِهِ لِسَانَكَ لِتَعْجَلَ بِهِ سورة القيامة آية 16 .
