Sahih al-Bukhari 50
Narrated Abu Huraira (رضي الله تعالى عنه), one day while the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) was sitting in the company of some people, Jibreel (عليه السالم) came (in the guise of a human being) and asked, "What is Iman?" Allah's Apostle (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) replied, 'Iman is to believe in Allah, His angels, (the) meeting with Him, His Apostles, and to believe in Resurrection." Then he further asked, "What is Islam?" Allah's Apostle ( صلى هللاعليه و آله وسلم) replied, "To pray Allah ( ََّّ ََّّ وَجَلعَز) alone and none else, to offer prayers perfectly, to pay Zakat, and to observe fasts during the month of Ramadan." Then he further asked, "What is Ihsan?" Allah's Apostle (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) replied, "To pray Allah ( ََّّ ََّّ وَجَلعَز) as if you see Him, and if you cannot achieve this state of devotion then you must consider that He is looking at you." Then he further asked, "When will the Hour be established?" Allah's Apostle (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) replied, "The one who is answering has no better knowledge than the one who is questioning. But I will inform you about its portents. (i) When a slave (lady) gives birth to her master. (ii) When the shepherds of black camels start boasting and competing with others in the construction of higher buildings. And the Hour is one of five things which nobody knows except Allah ( ََّّ ََّّ وَجَلعَز). The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) then recited (Quranic verse - َِّ َ عِندَهُ عِلْمُ السَّاعَةإِنَّ َّللا [Verily, with Allah has the knowledge of the Hour.] (Luqman- 34). Then that person (Jibreel عليهالسالم) left and the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) asked his companions to call him back, but they could not see him. Then the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said, "That was Jibreel (عليه السالم) who came to teach the people their religion." Abu Abdullah said : He (the Prophet ﷺ) considered all that as part of Iman.
حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے، نبی اکرم ﷺ لوگوں کے سامنے تشریف فرما تھے کہ اچانک ایک شخص آپ کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوا اور پوچھنے لگا: ایمان کیا ہے؟ آپ نے فرمایا: ’’ایمان یہ ہے کہ تم اللہ پر، اس کے فرشتوں پر اور روز حشر اللہ کے حضور پیش ہونے پر، اور اللہ کے رسولوں پر ایمان لاؤ اور قیامت کا یقین کرو۔‘‘ اس نے مزید سوال کیا: اسلام کیا ہے؟ آپ نے فرمایا: ’’اسلام یہ ہے کہ تم محض اللہ کی عبادت کرو اور اس کے ساتھ کسی کو شریک نہ بناؤ۔ نماز ٹھیک طور پر ادا کرو اور فرض زکاۃ ادا کرو اور رمضان کے روزے رکھو۔‘‘ پھر اس نے پوچھا: احسان کیا ہے؟ آپﷺ نے فرمایا: ’’احسان یہ ہے کہ تم اللہ کی عبادت اس طرح کرو گویا تم اسے دیکھ رہے ہو، اگر تم اسے نہیں دیکھ رہے ہو، تو وہ تو تمہیں دیکھ رہا ہے۔‘‘ اس نے کہا: قیامت کب برپا ہو گی؟ آپ نے فرمایا: ’’جس سے سوال کیا گیا ہے وہ بھی سوال کرنے والے سے زیادہ نہیں جانتا، البتہ میں تمہیں قیامت برپا ہونے کی کچھ نشانیاں بتائے دیتا ہوں: جب لونڈی اپنی مالکہ کو جنے گی اور جب اونٹوں کے غیر معروف سیاہ فام چرواہے فلک بوس عمارتیں بنانے میں ایک دوسرے پر بازی لے جائیں گے (تو قیامت قریب ہو گی)۔ دراصل قیامت ان پانچ باتوں میں سے ہے جن کو اللہ کے سوا اور کوئی نہیں جانتا۔‘‘ پھر آپ نے یہ آیت تلاوت فرمائی: ’’بےشک اللہ ہی کو قیامت کا علم ہے۔‘‘ اس کے بعد وہ شخص واپس چلا گیا، تو آپﷺ نے فرمایا: ’’اسے میرے پاس لاؤ۔‘‘ چنانچہ لوگوں نے اسے تلاش کیا لیکن اس کا کوئی سراغ نہ ملا تو آپﷺ نے فرمایا: ’’یہ جبریل تھے جو لوگوں کو ان کا دین سکھانے آئے تھے۔‘‘ ابوعبداللہ (امام بخاری رحمہ اللہ) نے کہا: ’’رسول اللہ ﷺ نے ان تمام چیزوں کو ایمان قرار دیا ہے۔‘‘
Hazrat Abu Hurairah (Radi Allahu Anhu) se riwayat hai, Nabi Akram (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) logon ke samne tashreef farma the ke achanak ek shakhs aap ki khidmat mein hazir hua aur kehne laga: Iman kya hai? Aap ne farmaya: ''Iman yeh hai ke tum Allah par, uske farishton par aur roz-e-Hashr Allah ke huzoor pesh hone par, aur Allah ke Rasoolon par Iman lao aur Qayamat ka yaqeen karo.'' Usne mazeed sawal kiya: Islam kya hai? Aap ne farmaya: ''Islam yeh hai ke tum mehaz Allah ki ibadat karo aur uske saath kisi ko shareek na banao. Namaz theek taur par ada karo aur farz zakat ada karo aur Ramadan ke roze rakho.'' Phir usne pucha: Ehsan kya hai? Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya: ''Ehsan yeh hai ke tum Allah ki ibadat is tarah karo goya tum use dekh rahe ho, agar tum use nahin dekh rahe ho, to woh to tumhein dekh raha hai.'' Usne kaha: Qayamat kab barpa hogi? Aap ne farmaya: ''Jis se sawal kiya gaya hai woh bhi sawal karne wale se ziyada nahin janta, albattah main tumhein Qayamat barpa hone ki kuch nishaniyan bataye deta hoon: Jab laundi apni malka ko janegi aur jab oonton ke ghair maroof siyah faam charwahe falak bos imaratein banane mein ek doosre par bazi le jayenge (to Qayamat qareeb hogi). Dar asal Qayamat un paanch baton mein se hai jin ko Allah ke siwa aur koi nahin janta.'' Phir aap ne yeh Ayat tilawat farmai: ''Beshak Allah hi ko Qayamat ka ilm hai.'' Iske baad woh shakhs wapas chala gaya, to aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya: ''Ise mere paas lao.'' Chunancha logon ne use talash kiya lekin uska koi suragh na mila to aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya: ''Yeh Jibreel (Alaihis Salam) the jo logon ko unka deen sikhane aaye the.'' Abu Abdullah (Imam Bukhari, Rahimahullah) ne kaha: ''Rasul Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne in tamam cheezon ko Iman qarar diya hai.''
حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو حَيَّانَ التَّيْمِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي زُرْعَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَارِزًا يَوْمًا لِلنَّاسِ ، فَأَتَاهُ جِبْرِيلُ ، فَقَالَ : مَا الْإِيمَانُ ؟ قَالَ : الْإِيمَانُ أَنْ تُؤْمِنَ بِاللَّهِ وَمَلَائِكَتِهِ وَبِلِقَائِهِ وَرُسُلِهِ وَتُؤْمِنَ بِالْبَعْثِ ، قَالَ : مَا الْإِسْلَامُ ؟ قَالَ : الْإِسْلَامُ أَنْ تَعْبُدَ اللَّهَ وَلَا تُشْرِكَ بِهِ شَيْئًا ، وَتُقِيمَ الصَّلَاةَ ، وَتُؤَدِّيَ الزَّكَاةَ الْمَفْرُوضَةَ ، وَتَصُومَ رَمَضَانَ ، قَالَ : مَا الْإِحْسَانُ ؟ قَالَ : أَنْ تَعْبُدَ اللَّهَ كَأَنَّكَ تَرَاهُ فَإِنْ لَمْ تَكُنْ تَرَاهُ فَإِنَّهُ يَرَاكَ ، قَالَ : مَتَى السَّاعَةُ ؟ قَالَ : مَا الْمَسْئُولُ عَنْهَا بِأَعْلَمَ مِنَ السَّائِلِ ، وَسَأُخْبِرُكَ عَنْ أَشْرَاطِهَا إِذَا وَلَدَتِ الْأَمَةُ رَبَّهَا ، وَإِذَا تَطَاوَلَ رُعَاةُ الْإِبِلِ الْبُهْمُ فِي الْبُنْيَانِ فِي خَمْسٍ لَا يَعْلَمُهُنَّ إِلَّا اللَّهُ ، ثُمَّ تَلَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : إِنَّ اللَّهَ عِنْدَهُ عِلْمُ السَّاعَةِ سورة لقمان آية 34 ، ثُمَّ أَدْبَرَ ، فَقَالَ : رُدُّوهُ ، فَلَمْ يَرَوْا شَيْئًا ، فَقَالَ : هَذَا جِبْرِيلُ ، جَاءَ يُعَلِّمُ النَّاسَ دِينَهُمْ ، قَالَ أَبُو عَبْد اللَّهِ : جَعَلَ ذَلِك كُلَّهُ مِنَ الْإِيمَانِ .
