Our master Anas, may Allah be pleased with him, said: The minimum period of menstruation is three days. Imam Darami, may Allah have mercy on him, was asked: Is this also your opinion? He said: Yes, when the habit is such, then the period of menstruation is three days. Sufyan said: I asked Imam Darami, may Allah have mercy on him, about this, so he said: The minimum period of menstruation is one day and one night, and the maximum is fifteen days.

سیدنا انس رضی اللہ عنہ نے فرمایا: حیض کی کم سے کم مدت تین دن ہے۔ امام دارمی رحمہ اللہ سے پوچھا گیا: آپ کا بھی یہی قول ہے؟ فرمایا: ہاں، جب عادة ایسی ہو تو تین ہی دن مدت حیض ہے۔ سفیان نے کہا: میں نے امام دارمی رحمہ اللہ سے اس بارے میں استفسار کیا تو انہوں نے فرمایا: کم سے کم حیض کی مدت ایک دن ایک رات ہے اور زیاد سے زیادہ پندرہ دن۔
Sayyidaana Anas raza ALLAHU anhu ne farmaya: haiz ki kam se kam muddat teen din hai. Imam Daarmi rahimahullah se poocha gaya: aap ka bhi yahi qaul hai? Farmaya: haan, jab aadat aisi ho to teen hi din muddat haiz hai. Sufyaan ne kaha: mein ne Imam Daarmi rahimahullah se is baare mein istafsar kiya to unhon ne farmaya: kam se kam haiz ki muddat ek din ek raat hai aur ziada se ziada pandrah din.
(حديث موقوف) أَخْبَرَنَا أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، قَالَ: قَالَ سُفْيَانُ: بَلَغَنِي عَنْ أَنَسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ: "أَدْنَى الْحَيْضِ ثَلَاثَةُ أَيَّامٍ"، سُئِلَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ الدَّارِمِيُّ: تَأْخُذُ بِهَذَا؟، قَالَ:"نَعَمْ، إِذَا كَانَ عَادَتَهَا"، وَسَأَلْتُهُ أَيْضًا عَنْ هَذَا؟، قَالَ:"أَقَلُّ الْحَيْضِ يَوْمٌ وَلَيْلَةٌ، وَأَكْثَرُهُ خَمْسَ عَشْرَةَ".
