Jabir ibn Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: During the Battle of the Trench, Sa'd ibn Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) was struck by an arrow, severing his vein (called Abjal). The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) cauterized it with fire, but his hand swelled and started bleeding again. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) cauterized it again, and again his hand swelled. When Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) saw this (and became certain of death), he said, "O Allah, do not take my soul until my eyes have cooled from seeing Banu Qurayzah (meaning, until I see their destruction, by the will of Allah)." His vein stopped bleeding, and not a single drop of blood flowed from it until Banu Qurayzah surrendered to the command of Sa'd ibn Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) (meaning, they laid down their arms). So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sent a message to Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) (meaning, he summoned him, and he came), and Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) judged: Their men should be killed and their women should be kept alive so that the Muslims could benefit from them. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "You have judged among them with the judgment of Allah, the Exalted." At that time, there were four hundred men of Banu Qurayzah. When they had finished killing them, the vein of Sa'd ibn Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) burst open and he passed away.

سیدنا جابر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا: جنگِ احزاب میں سیدنا سعد بن معاذ رضی اللہ عنہ کے تیر لگ گیا اور ان کی رگ (ابجل نامی) کٹ گئی جس کو رسول اللہ ﷺ نے آگ سے داغ دیا، ان کا ہاتھ سوج گیا اور پھر سے خون بہنے لگا، آپ ﷺ نے پھر دوباره داغا، پھر ہاتھ سورج گیا۔ جب سیدنا سعد رضی اللہ عنہ نے یہ حال دیکھا (اور موت کا یقین ہو گیا) تو کہا: اے اللہ اس وقت تک میری جان نہ نکالنا جب تک کہ بنی قریظہ سے میری آنکھیں ٹھنڈی ہو جائیں (یعنی ان کی ہلاکت دیکھ لوں اللہ کی مشیت سے)، ان کی رگ رک گئی اور اس سے ایک قطرہ بھی خون نہ ٹپکا یہاں تک کہ بنوقریظہ سیدنا سعد بن معاذ رضی اللہ عنہ کے حکم پر اتر آئے (یعنی انہوں نے ہتھیار ڈال دیئے)، چنانچہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے سیدنا سعد رضی اللہ عنہ کے پاس پیغام بھیجا (یعنی انہیں بلایا، وہ آئے) اور سیدنا سعد رضی اللہ عنہ نے فیصلہ کیا: ان کے مرد قتل کر دیئے جائیں اور عورتیں زندہ رکھی جائیں تاکہ مسلمانوں کو ان سے مدد ملے۔ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”تم نے ان کے بارے میں اللہ تعالیٰ کے فیصلے کے مطابق فیصلہ کیا“، اس وقت بنوقریظہ کے چار سو افراد تھے، جب ان کے قتل سے فارغ ہوئے تو پھر سیدنا سعد رضی اللہ عنہ کی رگ کھل گئی اور وہ انتقال کر گئے۔
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne kaha: Jang e Ahzab mein Sayyiduna Saad bin Muadh (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ke teer lag gaya aur un ki rag (Abjal nami) kat gayi jis ko Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne aag se daagh diya, un ka haath sooj gaya aur phir se khoon behne laga, Aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne phir dobara daagha, phir haath sooj gaya. Jab Sayyiduna Saad (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne ye haal dekha (aur maut ka yaqeen ho gaya) to kaha: Aye Allah is waqt tak meri jaan na nikalna jab tak ke Bani Quraizah se meri aankhein thundi ho jayein (yani un ki halakat dekh loon Allah ki mashiyat se), un ki rag ruk gayi aur is se ek qatra bhi khoon na tapka yahan tak ke Banu Quraizah Sayyiduna Saad bin Muadh (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ke hukum par utar aaye (yani unhon ne hathiyar daal diye), chunancha Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne Sayyiduna Saad (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ke paas paigham bheja (yani unhein bulaya, woh aaye) aur Sayyiduna Saad (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne faisla kiya: Un ke mard qatl kar diye jayein aur auraten zinda rakhi jayein taake Musalmanon ko un se madad mile. Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: "Tum ne un ke baare mein Allah Ta'ala ke faisle ke mutabiq faisla kiya", is waqt Banu Quraizah ke chaar sau afrad thay, jab un ke qatl se farigh huye to phir Sayyiduna Saad (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ki rag khul gayi aur woh inteqal kar gaye.
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ: رُمِيَ يَوْمَ الْأَحْزَابِ سَعْدُ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ، فَقَطَعُوا أَبْجَلَهُ فَحَسَمَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالنَّارِ، فَانْتَفَخَتْ، يَدُهُ فَنَزَفَهُ فَحَسَمَهُ أُخْرَى، فَانْتَفَخَتْ يَدُهُ فَلَمَّا رَأَى ذَلِكَ قَالَ: اللَّهُمَّ لَا تُخْرِجْ نَفْسِي حَتَّى تُقِرَّ عَيْنِي مِنْ بَنِي قُرَيْظَةَ، فَاسْتَمْسَكَ عِرْقُهُ فَمَا قَطَرَ قَطْرَةً حَتَّى نَزَلُوا عَلَى حَكْمِ سَعْدٍ. فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَيْهِ، فَحَكَمَ أَنْ تُقْتَلَ رِجَالُهُمْ، وَتُسْتَحْيَا نِسَاؤُهُمْ وَذَرَارِيُّهُمْ لِيَسْتَعِينُ بِهِمُ الْمُسْلِمُونَ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: "أَصَبْتَ حُكْمَ اللَّهِ فِيهِمْ". وَكَانُوا أَرْبَعَ مِائَةٍ، فَلَمَّا فُرِغَ مِنْ قَتْلِهِمُ، انْفَتَقَ عِرْقُهُ فَمَاتَ.
