Sunan al-Darimi 1861
Nabiha bin Wahab narrated that a man from Quraysh sent a marriage proposal to Aban bin Uthman, who was the Amir al-Hajj at that time. Aban said: "You seem like an uncultured Iraqi, indeed a Muhrim cannot marry nor can he arrange a marriage. We have been informed about this by the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, through Sayyidina Uthman, may Allah be pleased with him." Imam Darimi, may Allah have mercy on him, was asked: "Do you also say the same?" He said: "Yes (meaning a Muhrim should neither marry nor arrange a marriage)."

نبیہ بن وہب نے روایت کیا کہ قریش کے ایک شخص نے ابان بن عثمان کے پاس پیغام شادی بھیجا جو کہ اس موسم میں امیر الحج تھے، ابان نے کہا: تم بالکل عراقی گنوار لگتے ہو، بیشک محرم نہ اپنا نکاح کر سکتا ہے نہ کروا سکتا ہے، ہم کو اس کی خبر رسول اللہ ﷺ سے سیدنا عثمان رضی اللہ عنہ نے دی۔ امام دارمی رحمۃ اللہ علیہ سے پوچھا گیا: آپ بھی یہی کہتے ہیں؟ فرمایا: ہاں (یعنی محرم نہ نکاح کرے نہ کروائے)۔
Nabi bin Wahab ne riwayat kya ke Quresh ke aik shakhs ne Aban bin Usman ke paas paigham shadi bheja jo ke us mausam mein Ameer ul Hajj the, Aban ne kaha: Tum bilkul Iraqi ganwar lagte ho, beshak muhrim na apna nikah kar sakta hai na karwa sakta hai, hum ko is ki khabar Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se Sayyidna Usman razi Allah anhu ne di. Imam Darmi rehmatullah alaih se poocha gaya: Aap bhi yahi kehte hain? Farmaya: Haan (yani muhrim na nikah kare na karwaye).
حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنْ نُبَيْهِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ: أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ خَطَبَ إِلَى أَبَانَ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ وَهُوَ أَمِيرُ الْمَوْسِمِ، فَقَالَ أَبَانُ: لَا أُرَاهُ إِلا عِرَاقِيًّا جَافِيًا،"إِنَّ الْمُحْرِمَ لَا يَنْكِحُ وَلَا يُنْكِحُ". أَخْبَرَنَا بِذَلِكَ عُثْمَانُ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ. سُئِلَ أَبُو مُحَمَّد: تَقُولُ بِهَذَا؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ.
