باب تغير الزمان وما يحدث فيه
Sunan al-Darimi 201
Imam Shabi (may Allah have mercy on him) said: If these people of opinion (Ahl al-Ra'y) had been in the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), then it would have been found in the Holy Quran in general: «They ask you, they ask you» (i.e. the verses would have been revealed in this form).

امام شعبی رحمہ اللہ نے فرمایا: اگر یہ اصحاب الرائے نبی کریم ﷺ کے زمانے میں ہوتے تو قرآن پاک میں عمومی طور پر یہ پایا جاتا: «يسألونك، يسألونك» (یعنی اسی صیغے سے آیات نازل ہوتیں)۔
Imaam Shabi rehmatullah alaih ne farmaya: Agar ye Ashaab ur Rai Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke zamaane mein hote to Quran Pak mein aam taur par ye paya jata: «Yasalunaq, Yasalunaq» (yani isi sighay se ayat nazil hoti).
(حديث مقطوع) أَخْبَرَنَا صَدَقَةُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيل، عَنْ الشَّعْبِيِّ، قَالَ: "لَوْ أَنَّ هَؤُلَاءِ كَانُوا عَلَى عَهْدِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَنَزَلَتْ عَامَّةُ الْقُرْآنِ يَسْأَلُونَكَ، يَسْأَلُونَكَ".
