Sunan al-Darimi 213
Belaaz bin Asma narrated that I heard Abdullah bin Masood (may Allah be pleased with him) saying on Thursday evening, the night of Friday, he stood up and said: The truest of speech is the word of Allah, and the best guidance is the guidance of Muhammad (peace be upon him), and wretched is he who is declared wretched in his mother's womb, and the worst of thoughts (or words and deeds) are false thoughts, and the worst of actions is innovation, and every coming thing is near.

بلاز بن عصمۃ سے روایت ہے کہ میں نے سیدنا عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ کو کہتے سنا، وہ جمعرات کی شام یعنی جمعہ والی رات کو کھڑے ہوئے اور فرمایا: سب سے سچا قول اللہ تعالیٰ کا فرمان ہے، اور سب سے اچھا راستہ محمد ﷺ کا راستہ ہے، اور بدبخت وہ ہے جو اپنی ماں کے پیٹ میں ہی بدبخت قرار دے دیا گیا، اور سب سے بدترین سوچ و فکر (یا قول و فعل) جھوٹی سوچ و فکر ہے، اور بدترین کام بدعت ایجاد کرنا ہے، اور ہر آنے والی چیز قریب ہے۔
Bilaz bin Asma se riwayat hai keh maine Sayyidina Abdullah bin Masood razi Allah anhu ko kehte suna, woh jumaraat ki shaam yani jumma wali raat ko khare hue aur farmaya: Sab se sacha qaul Allah ta'ala ka farmaan hai, aur sab se achha rasta Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ka rasta hai, aur badbakht woh hai jo apni maan ke pet mein hi badbakht qarar de diya gaya, aur sab se badtareen soch-o-fikr (ya qaul-o-faal) jhooti soch-o-fikr hai, aur badtareen kaam bidat ijad karna hai, aur har aane wali cheez qareeb hai.
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاق الْفَزَارِيِّ، عَنْ أَسْلَمَ الْمِنْقَرِيِّ، عَنْ بِلَادِ بْنِ عِصْمَةَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ مَسْعُودٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، يَقُولُ: وَكَانَ إِذَا كَانَ عَشِيَّةَ الْخَمِيسِ لَيْلَةِ الْجُمُعَةِ، قَامَ فَقَالَ: "إِنَّ أَصْدَقَ الْقَوْلِ قَوْلُ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ، وَإِنَّ أَحْسَنَ الْهَدْيِ هَدْيُ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَالشَّقِيُّ مَنْ شَقِيَ فِي بَطْنِ أُمِّهِ، وَإِنَّ شَرَّ الرَّوَايَا رَوَايَا الْكَذِبِ، وَشَرَّ الْأُمُورِ مُحْدَثَاتُهَا، وَكُلَّ مَا هُوَ آتٍ قَرِيبٌ".
