Hasan, may Allah have mercy on him, said: "By the One besides Whom there is no deity, your way (of following the Sunnah) lies between the extremist and the neglectful, so adopt this middle path, may Allah have mercy on you. The people of the Sunnah were the fewest in number in times past and they will be the fewest in the time remaining. They did not follow the rebellious people in their rebellion, nor the people of innovation in their innovation, but they remained steadfast upon their way of the Sunnah until they met their Lord. So be like them, by the command of Allah."

حسن رحمہ اللہ نے کہا: اس ذات کی قسم جس کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں تمہاری سنت (کی پیروی) غلو کرنے والے یا اعراض کرنے والے کے مابین ہے، پس تم اس درمیانی راستے کو اپناؤ اللہ تم پر رحم فرمائے، پچھلے زمانے میں بھی سنت کے شیدائی لوگوں میں سب سے کم تھے اور آنے والے باقی زمانے میں بھی سب سے کم ہوں گے، جنہوں نے سرکش لوگوں کی ان کی سرکشتی میں، اور بدعتیوں کی ان کی بدعت میں پیروی نہیں کی، اور اپنے سنت طریقے پر جمے رہے یہاں تک کہ اپنے رب سے جا ملے، سو تم بھی اللہ کے حکم سے انہیں کی طرح ہو جاؤ۔
Hasan rehmatullah ne kaha is zaat ki qasam jis ke siwa koi mabood nahi tumhari sunnat ki pairavi ghulu karne wale ya iraz karne wale ke maben hai pas tum is darmiyane raste ko apnao Allah tum par reham farmaye pichle zamane mein bhi sunnat ke shaidai logon mein sab se kam the aur aane wale baqi zamane mein bhi sab se kam honge jinhone sarkash logon ki unki sarkashi mein aur bidatiyon ki unki bidat mein pairavi nahi ki aur apne sunnat tareeqe par jame rahe yahan tak ke apne rab se ja mile so tum bhi Allah ke hukum se unhin ki tarah ho jao.
(حديث مقطوع) أَخْبَرَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، عَنْ شريك، عَنْ مُبَارَكٍ، عَنْ الْحَسَنِ، قَالَ: "سُنَّتُكُمْ وَاللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ بَيْنَهُمَا: بَيْنَ الْغَالِي وَالْجَافِي، فَاصْبِرُوا عَلَيْهَا رَحِمَكُمْ اللَّهُ، فَإِنَّ أَهْلَ السُّنَّةِ كَانُوا أَقَلَّ النَّاسِ فِيمَا مَضَى، وَهُمْ أَقَلُّ النَّاسِ فِيمَا بَقِيَ: الَّذِينَ لَمْ يَذْهَبُوا مَعَ أَهْلِ الْإِتْرَافِ فِي إِتْرَافِهِمْ، وَلَا مَعَ أَهْلِ الْبِدَعِ فِي بِدَعِهِمْ، وَصَبَرُوا عَلَى سُنَّتِهِمْ حَتَّى لَقُوا رَبَّهُمْ، فَكَذَلِكُمْ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ فَكُونُوا".
