Sunan al-Darimi 254
Sayyiduna Abdullah Ibn Mas'ud, may Allah be pleased with him, said: "Be a scholar, or a student, or a listener, and do not be the fourth, for you will be destroyed."

سیدنا عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ نے فرمایا: عالم بنو یا متعلم یا پھر مستمع رہو اور چوتھے آدمی نہ بنو کہ ہلاک ہو جاؤ۔
Sayyidna Abdullah bin Masood (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne farmaya: Alim bano ya mutallim ya phir mustami raho aur chauthe aadmi na bano ke halaak ho jao.
أَخْبَرَنَا قَبِيصَةُ، أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ، عَنْ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: "اغْدُ عَالِمًا أَوْ مُتَعَلِّمًا أَوْ مُسْتَمِعًا، وَلَا تَكُنِ الرَّابِعَ فَتَهْلِكَ".
