'Imran bin Husain narrated that: Thaqif took two of the companions of the Prophet as prisoners of war, and the companions of the Prophet took prisoner a man from Banu 'Amir bin Sa'sa'ah. He passed by the Prophet while he was tied up and called out, "O Muhammad! O Muhammad!" Allah's Messenger came to him, and he said, "Why am I imprisoned?" He said, "Because of the misdeeds of your allies." Then the Prophet went on, but he called him, so the Prophet came to him, and the captive said, "I am a Muslim." The Prophet said, "If you had said that while you were master of your own affairs, you would have been successful with all success." Then the Prophet went on, but he called him again, so he came to him, and he said, "I am hungry, so feed me." The Prophet said, "This is your (real) need." Then the Prophet ransomed him for the two men whom Thaqif had taken as prisoners of war.
عمران بن حسین رضی اللہ عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ ثقيف والوں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے دو صحابہ کو قیدی بنا لیا، اور رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے صحابہ نے بنو عامر بن صعصعہ کے ایک شخص کو قیدی بنا لیا۔ وہ نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس سے گزرا تو اس حال میں کہ وہ بندھا ہوا تھا اور پکارا کہ اے محمد! اے محمد! اللہ کے رسول صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم اس کے پاس آئے تو اس نے کہا کہ مجھے کیوں قید کیا گیا ہے؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ تمہارے حلیفوں کی زیادتیوں کی وجہ سے۔ پھر نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم آگے بڑھے تو اس نے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو پکارا تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم اس کے پاس آئے تو اس قیدی نے کہا کہ میں مسلمان ہوں۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ اگر تم یہ بات اس وقت کہتے جب تم اپنے معاملے میں بااختیار تھے تو تم کامیاب ہو جاتے۔ پھر نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم آگے بڑھے تو اس نے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو پھر پکارا تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم اس کے پاس آئے تو اس نے کہا کہ مجھے بھوک لگی ہے، مجھے کھانا کھلا دیں۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ یہ تمہاری (حقیقی) ضرورت ہے۔ پھر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اسے ان دو آدمیوں کے بدلے فدیہ دے کر چھڑوا لیا جنہیں ثقيف والے قیدی بنا کر لے گئے تھے۔

Phir Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam aage badhe to usne aap Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ko pukara to aap Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam uske paas aaye to us qaid ne kaha ki mein musalman hun. Aap Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ne farmaya ki agar tum yeh baat us waqt kehte jab tum apne mamle mein baakhtiyar the to tum kamyab ho jate. Phir Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam aage badhe to usne aap Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ko phir pukara to aap Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam uske paas aaye to usne kaha ki mujhe bhook lagi hai, mujhe khana khila den. Aap Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ne farmaya ki yeh tumhari (haqiqi) zarurat hai. Phir aap Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ne use un do admiyon ke badle fidya de kar chhudwa liya jinhen Thaqif wale qaid bana kar le gaye the.
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا هَنَّادُ بْنُ السَّرِيِّ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الْمُهَلَّبِ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ قَالَ أَسَرَتْ ثَقِيفٌ رَجُلَيْنِ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَأَسَرَ أَصْحَابُ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ رَجُلًا مِنْ بَنِي عَامِرِ بْنِ صَعْصَعَةَ فَمَرَّ بِهِ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَهُوَ مُوثَقٌ فَنَادَاهُ يَا مُحَمَّدُ يَا مُحَمَّدُ فَأَقْبَلَ إِلَيْهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ «عَلَامَ أُحْبَسُ؟ » فَقَالَ بِجَرِيرَةِ حُلَفَائِكَ ثُمَّ مَضَى النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَنَادَاهُ فَأَقْبَلَ إِلَيْهِ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَقَالَ لَهُ الْأَسِيرُ إِنِّي مُسْلِمٌ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «لَوْ قُلْتَهَا وَأَنْتَ تَمْلِكُ أَمْرَكَ أَفْلَحْتَ كُلَّ الْفَلَاحِ» ثُمَّ مَضَى النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَنَادَاهُ أَيْضًا فَأَقْبَلَ إِلَيْهِ فَقَالَ إِنِّي جَائِعٌ فَأَطْعِمْنِي فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ هَذِهِ حَاجَتُكَ ثُمَّ إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَدَاهُ بِالرَّجُلَيْنِ اللَّذَيْنِ كَانَتْ ثَقِيفٌ أَسَرَتْهُمَا
