Sahih Ibn Hibban 6896
Anas said that Umar ibn al-Khattab said: I agreed with my Lord in three matters, or my Lord agreed with me in three matters. I said: O Messenger of Allah, if you took the station of Ibrahim as a place of prayer, so Allah revealed {And take the station of Ibrahim as a place of prayer}. And I said: The righteous and the wicked enter upon you, so if you secluded your wives, so the verse of Hijab was revealed. And something of the treatment of the Mothers of the Believers reached me, so I said: You should abstain from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ or Allah will replace him with wives better than you, until I reached one of the Mothers of the Believers, so she said: O Umar, is there not in the Messenger of Allah ﷺ what would discipline his wives so that you would discipline them? So I abstained, so Allah revealed {Perhaps his Lord, if he divorced you [all], would substitute for him wives better than you}.
عن أنس، قال عمر بن الخطاب: وافقت ربي في ثلاث، أو وافقني ربي في ثلاث، قلت: يا رسول الله، لو اتخذت مقام إبراهيم مصلى، فنزلت {وَاتَّخِذُوا مِنْ مَقَامِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ مُصَلًّى}، وقلت: يدخل عليك البر والفاجر، ولو أرخيت على نسائك الحجاب، فنزلت آية الحجاب، وبلغني شيء من شأن أزواج النبي ﷺ فقلت: لتنتهين أزواج النبي ﷺ أو ليبدلن الله رسوله أزواجا خيرا منكن، حتى أتيت إحداهن، فقالت: يا عمر، أو ليس في رسول الله ﷺ ما يغنيه عن نسائه حتى تغنيه أنت عنهن، فانتهرت، فأنزل الله {عَسَىٰ رَبُّهُ إِنْ طَلَّقَكُنَّ أَنْ يُبْدِلَهُ أَزْوَاجًا خَيْرًا مِنْكُنَّ}
An Anas, qal Umar bin al-Khattab: wafaqtu Rabbi fi salas, aw wafaqani Rabbi fi salas, qultu: Ya Rasul Allah, law ittakhazt Maqam Ibrahim musalla, fanazalat {Wa ittakhizu min Maqam Ibrahim musalla}, wa qultu: yadkhul alayk al-birr wa al-fajir, wa law arkhayta ala nisa'ik al-hijab, fanazalat ayat al-hijab, wa balaghani shay' min shan azwaj al-Nabi ﷺ fa qultu: latantahin azwaj al-Nabi ﷺ aw liyubaddiln Allah Rasulahu azwajan khayran minkun, hatta atitt ihdahunna, fa qalat: Ya Umar, aw laysa fi Rasul Allah ﷺ ma yughnihi an nisa'ihi hatta tughniya anta anhunn, fantahartu, fa anzala Allahu {Asaa Rabbuhu in tallaqakunna an yubdilahu azwajan khayran minkunna}
أَخْبَرَنَا بَدَلُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ بَحْرٍ الْخِضْرَانِيُّ الْحَافِظُ الْإِسْفِرَايِينِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدُ بْنُ زَنْجُوَيْهِ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ بَكْرٍ السَّهْمِيُّ عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ قَالَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ وَافَقْتُ رَبِّي فِي ثَلَاثٍ أَوْ وَافَقَنِي رَبِّي فِي ثَلَاثٍ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ لَوِ اتَّخَذْتَ مِنْ مَقَامِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ مُصَلًّى فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ {وَاتَّخِذُوا مِنْ مَقَامِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ مُصَلًّى} وَقُلْتُ يَدْخُلُ عَلَيْكَ الْبَرُّ وَالْفَاجِرُ فَلَوْ حَجَبْتَ أُمَّهَاتِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ فَأُنْزِلَتْ آيَةُ الْحِجَابِ وَبَلَغَنِي شَيْءٌ مِنْ مُعَامَلَةِ أُمَّهَاتِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ فَقُلْتُ لَتَكُفُّنَّ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَوْ لَيُبْدِلَنَّهُ اللَّهُ أَزْوَاجًا خَيْرًا مِنْكُنَّ حَتَّى انْتَهَيْتُ إِلَى إِحْدَى أُمَّهَاتِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ فَقَالَتْ يَا عُمَرُ أَمَا فِي رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَا يَعِظُ نِسَاءَهُ حَتَّى تَعِظَهُنَّ أَنْتَ فَكَفَفْتُ فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهَ {عَسَى رَبُّهُ إِنْ طَلَّقَكُنَّ أَنْ يُبْدِلَهُ أَزْوَاجًا خَيْرًا مِنْكُنَّ}
