Chapter: The place of standing at `Arafat

باب الْمَوْقِفِ بِعَرَفَةَ

Sunan Ibn Majah 3010

Ali (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) stopped at Arafat and said, ‘this is the place of standing, and all of Arafat is a place of standing.’


Grade: Da'if

علی رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے عرفات میں وقوف کیا، اور فرمایا: یہ جگہ اور سارا عرفات ٹھہرنے کی جگہ ہے ۔

Ali (رضي الله تعالى عنه) kehte hain ke Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne Arafat mein waquf kiya, aur farmaya: yeh jagah aur sara Arafat thaharne ki jagah hai.

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَيَّاشٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي رَافِعٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَقَفَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِعَرَفَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا الْمَوْقِفُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَعَرَفَةُ كُلُّهَا مَوْقِفٌ .

Sunan Ibn Majah 3011

Yazid bin Shaiban (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated, ‘we were standing in a place that was far from the place of standing. Ibn Mirba came to us and said, ‘I am the messenger of the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) to you. He (the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said, ‘stay where you are today for today you are on the legacy of Ibrahim (عليه السالم).’


Grade: Sahih

یزید بن شیبان رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ ہم عرفات میں ایک جگہ ٹھہرے ہوئے تھے، جس کو ہم موقف ( ٹھہرنے کی جگہ ) سے دور سمجھ رہے تھے، اتنے میں ہمارے پاس ابن مربع آئے اور کہنے لگے: میں تمہارے پاس رسول اللہ ﷺ کا قاصد بن کر آیا ہوں، آپ فرما رہے ہیں: تم لوگ اپنی اپنی جگہوں پر رہو، کیونکہ تم آج ابراہیم علیہ السلام کے وارث ہو ۔

Yazid bin Shiban (رضي الله تعالى عنه) kehte hain ke hum Arafat mein ek jagah thahre hue the, jis ko hum Mauqif ( thaherne ki jagah ) se dur samjh rahe the, itne mein hamare pas Ibn Muree aaye aur kahne lage: main tumhare pas Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ka Qasid ban kar aaya hun, aap farma rahe hain: tum log apni apni jagahon par raho, kyunkay tum aaj Ibrahim alaihi wa sallam ke waris ho

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ صَفْوَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ شَيْبَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كُنَّا وُقُوفًا فِي مَكَانٍ تُبَاعِدُهُ مِنَ الْمَوْقِفِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَأَتَانَا ابْنُ مِرْبَعٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ رَسُولُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَيْكُمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ كُونُوا عَلَى مَشَاعِرِكُمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَإِنَّكُمُ الْيَوْمَ عَلَى إِرْثٍ مِنْ إِرْثِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ .

Sunan Ibn Majah 3012

Jabir bin Abdullah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that the Apostle of Allah ( صلى ہللا عليه و آلهوسلم) said, ‘all of Arafat is the place of standing, but keep away from the interior of Uranah. And all Muzdalifah is the place of standing but keep away from the interior of Muhassir. And all of Mina is the place of sacrifice, except for what is beyond Aqaba.’


Grade: Da'if

جابر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا: پورا عرفات جائے وقوف ہے، اور بطن عرفہ سے اٹھ جاؤ یعنی وہاں نہ ٹھہرو، اور پورا ( مزدلفہ ) ٹھہرنے کی جگہ ہے، اور بطن محسر سے اٹھ جاؤ یعنی وہاں نہ ٹھہرو، اور پورا منٰی منحر ( مذبح ) ہے، سوائے جمرہ عقبہ کے پیچھے کے ۔

Jabir bin Abdillah ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a kehte hain ke Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: Pura Arafat jaay-e-waqof hai, aur Batn Arafat se uth jao yani wahan na thahro, aur pura ( Mazdalifah ) thahrane ki jagah hai, aur Batn Muhassar se uth jao yani wahan na thahro, aur pura Mina Manhar ( mazbah ) hai, siwaye Jamrat Aqaba ke pichhe ke

حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْعُمَرِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُنْكَدِرِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ كُلُّ عَرَفَةَ مَوْقِفٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَارْفِعُوا عَنْ بَطْنِ عَرَفَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَكُلُّ الْمُزْدَلِفَةِ مَوْقِفٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَارْتَفِعُوا عَنْ بَطْنِ مُحَسِّرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَكُلُّ مِنًى مَنْحَرٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏إِلَّا مَا وَرَاءَ الْعَقَبَةِ .
