Chapter: What was narrated concerning how many times the Imam should say the Takbir in the Eid Prayers

باب مَا جَاءَ فِي كَمْ يُكَبِّرُ الإِمَامُ فِي صَلاَةِ الْعِيدَيْنِ

Sunan Ibn Majah 1277

Abdur-Rahman bin Sa’d bin ‘Ammar bin Sa’d , the Mu’adhdhin of the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم), narrated from his father, from his father, from his grandfather, that the Apostle of Allah (صلى هللا ليه ع و آله وسلم) used to say the Takbir in the ‘Eid prayer, seven times in the first (Rak’ah) before reciting Qur’an, and five times in the second before reciting Qur’an.

رسول اللہ ﷺ کے مؤذن سعد رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ عیدین کی پہلی رکعت میں قراءت سے پہلے سات تکبیریں اور دوسری رکعت میں قراءت سے پہلے پانچ تکبیریں کہا کرتے تھے۔

حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ سَعْدِ بْنِ عَمَّارِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ مُؤَذِّنِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ جَدِّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ كَانَ يُكَبِّرُ فِي الْعِيدَيْنِ:‏‏‏‏ فِي الْأُولَى سَبْعًا قَبْلَ الْقِرَاءَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ خَمْسًا قَبْلَ الْقِرَاءَةِ .

Sunan Ibn Majah 1278

It was narrated from ‘Amr bin Shu’aib, from his father, from his grandfather, that the Apostle of Allah (صلى هللا عليه و آله وسلم) said the Takbir seven times and five times in the ‘Eid prayer.

عبداللہ بن عمرو بن العاص رضی اللہ عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ نبی اکرم ﷺ نے نماز عید میں سات اور پانچ تکبیریں کہیں۔

Abdul-Allah bin Amr bin al-Aas (رضي الله تعالى عنه)uma se riwayat hai ke Nabi-e-Akram (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne namaz-e-eid mein saat aur panch takbiraan kaheen.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَعْلَى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْعَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ جَدِّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ كَبَّرَ فِي صَلَاةِ الْعِيدِ سَبْعًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَخَمْسًا .

Sunan Ibn Majah 1279

Kathir bin ‘Abdullah bin ‘Amr bin ‘Awf narrated, from his father, from his grandfather, that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said the Takbir in the ‘Eid prayers, seven times in the first Rak’ah and five times in the second.


Grade: Sahih

عمرو بن عوف رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے عیدین کی پہلی رکعت میں سات تکبیریں اور دوسری میں پانچ تکبیریں کہیں۔

Amro bin Aouf (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se riwayat hai ke Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne Eidain ki pehli rakat mein sat takbiraein aur dusri mein panch takbiraein kahin.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مَسْعُودٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عَقِيلٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ خَالِدِ بْنِ عَثْمَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا كَثِيرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَوْفٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ جَدِّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ كَبَّرَ فِي الْعِيدَيْنِ:‏‏‏‏ سَبْعًا فِي الْأُولَى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَخَمْسًا فِي الْآخِرَةِ .

Sunan Ibn Majah 1280

It was narrated from ‘Ummul Momineen Aisha (رضي الله تعالى عنها) that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said the Takbir seven and five times in (the prayer for ‘Eid) Fitr and Adha, apart from the Takbir for Ruku’ (bowing).

ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے عید الاضحی اور عید الفطر میں رکوع کی تکبیروں کے علاوہ سات اور پانچ تکبیریں کہیں۔

ummul momineen ayesha radhiallahu anha se riwayat hai ke rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne eid ul adha aur eid ul fitr mein rukoo ki takbeeron ke alawa saat aur panch takbeerein kaheen.

حَدَّثَنَا حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ وَعُقَيْلٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عُرْوَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ كَبَّرَ فِي الْفِطْرِ وَالْأَضْحَى سَبْعًا وَخَمْسًا سِوَى تَكْبِيرَتَيِ الرُّكُوعِ .
