Sayyiduna Ubayy ibn Ka'b, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates: "The house of an Ansari man was the farthest from all the houses in Madinah Munawwarah. But despite this, he never missed the congregational prayer with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. I felt great compassion for him (seeing the hardship he endured) and said to him, 'O so-and-so, if you were to buy a donkey, it would save you from the heat of the sun, protect you from being injured by stones, and keep you safe from the venomous creatures of the earth (it would be a good thing).' He replied, 'By Allah, I would dislike nothing more than for my house to be adjacent to the house of Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him.' Sayyiduna Ubayy ibn Ka'b, may Allah be pleased with him, says, 'This statement of his deeply moved me, so much so that I went to the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and mentioned it to him.' The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, summoned him and asked him about it, and he repeated the same to him. He also added that he hoped for reward in this action of his. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said to him: 'Indeed, you will be rewarded according to your intention.'" In the narration of Janab San'ani, it is stated: "I informed the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, about this matter, and you inquired from him about it. He submitted, 'O Prophet of Allah, (I do this) so that the traces of my steps may be recorded, and my return to my family and my coming (to the mosque) may be written, or as he said.' You said, 'May Allah grant you all of this, and whatever you have intended, may Allah grant you that too,' or as you, peace and blessings be upon him, said."
سیدنا ابی بن کعب رضی اللہ عنہ بیان کرتے ہیں کہ ایک انصاری شخص کا گھر مدینہ منوّرہ میں سب گھروں سے دُور تھا۔ مگر اُس کے باوجود رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ اُس کی نماز باجماعت فوت نہیں ہوتی تھی، تو مجھے اس پر بڑا ترس آیا (کہ اتنی مشقّت برداشت کرتا ہے) میں نے (اس سے) کہا کہ اے فلاں، اگر تم ایک گدھا خرید لو، جو تمہیں گرمی کی تپش سے بچائے، پتھروں سے زخمی ہونے سے تمہیں محفوظ کرے اور تمہیں زمینی زہریلے کیڑے مکوڑوں سے بچالے (تو یہ کام بہت اچھا ہے) اُس نے کہا کہ اللہ کی قسم، بیشک میں یہ بات پسند نہیں کرتا کہ میرا گھر محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے گھر کے ساتھ متصل ہو۔ سیدنا ابی بن کعب رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ یہ بات مجھ پر بڑی گراں گزری، حتّیٰ کہ میں نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی خدمت میں حاضر ہو کر یہ بات ذکر کردی۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اُسے بلاکر اس بارے میں پوچھا تو اُس نے آپ کو بھی وہی بات کہی۔ اور یہ بھی بتایا کہ وہ اپنے اس کام میں اجروثواب کی امید رکھتا ہے۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اسے فرمایا: ”بیشک تمہیں تمہاری نیت کے مطابق اجروثواب ملے گا۔“ جناب صنعانی کی روایت میں ہے کہ ”میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو خبر دی چنانچہ آپ نے اُس سے اس بارے میں دریافت کیا۔ تو اُس نے عرض کی کہ اے اللہ کے نبی (میں یہ کام اس لئے کرتا ہوں) تاکہ میرے قدموں کے آثار لکھیں جائیں، اور میرا اپنے گھر والوں کی طرف لوٹنا اور میرا (مسجد کی طرف) آنا لکھا جائے، یا جس طرح اُس نے کہا، آپ نے فرمایا: ”اللہ تعالیٰ تمہیں یہ سب کچھ عطا کرے۔ اور جس چیز کی تم نے نیت کی اللہ تمہیں وہ سب بھی عطا فرمائے۔“ یا جیسے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا۔
Sayyiduna Ubay bin Ka'b Radi Allahu Anhu bayan karte hain ke ek Ansaari shakhs ka ghar Madinah Munawwarah mein sab gharon se door tha. Magar uske bawjood Rasool Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ke saath uski namaz ba jama'at foot nahi hoti thi, to mujhe us par bada taras aaya (ke itni mushq'qat bardasht karta hai) maine (usse) kaha ke aye falan, agar tum ek gadha khareed lo, jo tumhen garmi ki tapish se bachaye, pathron se zakhmi hone se tumhen mahfooz kare aur tumhen zamini zehrele keere makodon se bachale (to yeh kaam bahut achcha hai) usne kaha ke Allah ki qasam, beshak mein yeh baat pasand nahi karta ke mera ghar Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ke ghar ke saath muttasil ho. Sayyiduna Ubay bin Ka'b Radi Allahu Anhu kahte hain ke yeh baat mujh par bari giran guzri, hatta ke maine Nabi Kareem Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ki khidmat mein hazir ho kar yeh baat zikr kardi. Aap Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ne use bulakr is bare mein poochha to usne aap ko bhi wohi baat kahi. Aur yeh bhi bataya ke woh apne iss kaam mein ajro sawab ki umeed rakhta hai. Rasool Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ne use farmaya: ''beshak tumhen tumhari niyyat ke mutabiq ajro sawab milega.'' Janab San'ani ki riwayat mein hai ke ''maine Rasool Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ko khabar di chunancha aap ne usse is bare mein daryaft kiya. To usne arz ki ke aye Allah ke Nabi (mein yeh kaam isliye karta hun) taake mere qadmon ke aasar likhe jayen, aur mera apne ghar walon ki taraf lautna aur mera (masjid ki taraf) aana likha jaye, ya jis tarah usne kaha, aap ne farmaya: ''Allah Ta'ala tumhen yeh sab kuchh ata kare. Aur jis cheez ki tum ne niyyat ki Allah tumhen woh sab bhi ata farmaye.'' Ya jaise aap Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ne farmaya.
نَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدَةَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبَّادُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ الْمُهَلَّبِيُّ ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ ، عَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ ، وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الأَعْلَى الصَّنْعَانِيُّ ، نَا الْمُعْتَمِرُ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، نَا أَبُو عُثْمَانَ ، عَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ ، وَحَدَّثَنَا يُوسُفُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، نَا جَرِيرٌ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ التَّيْمِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ ، عَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ ، وَهَذَا حَدِيثُ عَبَّادٍ، قَالَ: كَانَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الأَنْصَارِ بَيْتُهُ أَقْصَى بَيْتٍ بِالْمَدِينَةِ، فَكَانَ لا تُخْطِئُهُ الصَّلاةُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَتَوَجَّعْتُ لَهُ، فَقُلْتُ: يَا فُلانُ، لَوْ إِنَّكَ اشْتَرَيْتَ حِمَارًا يَقِيكَ الرَّمَضَ، وَيَرْفَعُكَ مِنَ الْمَوْقِعِ، وَيَقِيكَ هَوَامَّ الأَرْضِ، فَقَالَ: إِنِّي وَاللَّهِ مَا أُحِبُّ أَنَّ بَيْتِيَ مُطَنَّبٌ بِبَيْتِ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: فَحَمَلْتُ بِهِ حَمْلا حَتَّى أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لَهُ، قَالَ: فَدَعَاهُ فَسَأَلَهُ، فَذَكَرَ لَهُ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ، وَذَكَرَ أَنَّهُ يَرْجُو فِي أَمْرِهِ، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" إِنَّ لَكَ مَا احْتَسَبْتَ" ، وَفِي حَدِيثِ الصَّنْعَانِيِّ: فَأَخْبَرْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَسَأَلَهُ عَنْ ذَلِكَ، فَقَالَ: يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ، لِكَيْمَا يُكْتَبَ أَثَرِي وَرُجُوعِي إِلَى أَهْلِي وَإِقْبَالِي إِلَيْهِ، أَوْ كَمَا قَالَ: قَالَ:" أَعْطَاكَ اللَّهُ ذَلِكَ كُلَّهُ، وَأَعْطَاكَ مَا احْتَسَبْتَ أَجْمَعَ"، أَوْ كَمَا قَالَ
