Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah 1890

Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Fasting is a shield."

سیدنا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے روایت کرتے ہیں کہ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”روزہ ڈھال ہے۔“

Sayyidna Abu Hurairah Radi Allahu Anhu Nabi Kareem Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam se riwayat karte hain ki aap Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ne farmaya: ”Roza dhaal hai."

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، نا رَوْحُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَطَاءٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ الزَّيَّاتِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: " الصَّوْمُ جُنَّةٌ"

Mr. Mutraf narrates that when I went to see Uthman bin Abi Al-'As, may Allah be pleased with him, he asked for milk to be brought for me to drink. I said that I am fasting. He said, "Indeed, I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, saying, 'Fasting is a shield from Hellfire, just as the war shield is for one of you.'" He also said, "The best of fasts are three days of fasting every month."

جناب مطرف بیان کرتے ہیں کہ میں سیدنا عثمان بن ابی العاص رضی اللہ عنہ کی خدمت میں حاضر ہو تو اُنہوں نے مجھے پلانے کے لئے دودھ منگوایا تو میں نے عرض کی کہ میں روزے سے ہوں۔ تو اُنہوں نے فرمایا: ” بیشک میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو فرماتے ہوئے سنا ہے کہ ” روزہ جہنّم سے اسی طرح ڈھال ہے جس طرح تم میں سے کسی شخص کی جنگی ڈھال ہوتی ہے۔“ اور فرمایا: ”بہترین روزے ہر مہینے تین دن کے روزے رکھنا ہے۔“

Janab Mutraf bayan karte hain ke mein Sayyidna Usman bin Abi al-Aas Radi Allahu Anhu ki khidmat mein hazir hua to unhon ne mujhe pilane ke liye doodh mungvaya to mein ne arz ki ke mein rozedaar hun to unhon ne farmaya: “Beshak mein ne Rasul Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ko farmate huye suna hai ke 'Roza Jahannum se usi tarah dhaal hai jis tarah tum mein se kisi shakhs ki jangi dhaal hoti hai' aur farmaya: 'Behtarin rozey har mahiney teen din ke rozey rakhna hai'”

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، نا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ ، قَالَ: أَنْبَأَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، حَدَّثَنِي سَعِيدٌ وَهُوَ ابْنُ أَبِي هِنْدَ ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ ، قَالَ: دَخَلْتُ عَلَى عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي الْعَاصِ ، فَدَعَا بِلَبَنٍ لِيَسْقِيَهُ، فَقُلْتُ: إِنِّي صَائِمٌ، فَقَالَ: إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، يَقُولُ: " الصِّيَامُ جُنَّةٌ مِنَ النَّارِ، كَجُنَّةِ أَحَدِكُمْ مِنَ الْقِتَالِ" قَالَ: " وَصِيَامٌ حَسَنٌ صِيَامُ ثَلاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ"
