كِتَابُ الْإِمَامَةِ فِي الصَّلَاةِ
Chapter on the severity of leaving the rows unaligned, fearing the discord of the Lord between hearts.
بَابُ التَّغْلِيظِ فِي تَرْكِ تَسْوِيَةِ الصُّفُوفِ تَخَوُّفًا لِمُخَالَفَةِ الرَّبِّ- عَزَّ وَجَلَّ- بَيْنَ الْقُلُوبِ.

Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah 1552
Narrated by Sayyiduna Bara' bin 'Azib (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would come to us (during the arrangement of rows for prayer) and straighten our shoulders and chests with his blessed hands, saying, "Your rows should not be crooked, otherwise your hearts will also become crooked. Verily, Allah Almighty sends down His mercy on the first row or the first few rows and His angels pray for their forgiveness."
سیدنا براء بن عازب رضی اللہ عنہ بیان کرتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم (صف بندی کے وقت) ہمارے پاس تشریف لاتے۔ آپ ہمارے کندھوں اور سینوں کو اپنے دست مبارک سے درست کرتے اور فرماتے: ”تمہاری صفیں ٹیڑھی نہیں ہونی چاہیئں وگرنہ تمہارے دل بھی ٹیڑھے ہوجائیں گے۔ بیشک اللہ تعالیٰ پہلی صف یا پہلی صفوں پر اپنی رحمت نازل فرماتا ہے اور اس کے فرشتے ان کے لئے بخشش کی دعا کرتے ہیں۔“
Sayyidna Bara bin Aazib Radi Allahu Anhu bayan karte hain ki Rasul Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam (saf bandi ke waqt) humare pass tashreef laate. Aap humare kandhon aur seeno ko apne dast mubarak se durust karte aur farmate: “Tumhari safein tedhi nahin honi chahiyen warna tumhare dil bhi tedhe hojayege. Beshak Allah Ta’ala pehli saf ya pehli safo per apni rehmat nazil farmata hai aur uske farishte unke liye bakhshish ki dua karte hain.”
نا عِيسَى بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، نا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، عَنْ جَرِيرِ بْنِ حَازِمٍ ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا إِسْحَاقَ الْهَمَذَانِيَّ ، يَقُولُ: حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَوْسَجَةَ ، عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ ، قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَأْتِينَا فَيَمْسَحُ عَلَى عَوَاتِقَنَا وَصُدُورِنَا، وَيَقُولُ: " لا تَخْتَلِفْ صُفُوفُكُمْ، فَتَخْتَلِفَ قُلُوبُكُمْ، إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَمَلائِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى الصَّفِّ الأَوَّلِ" ، أَوِ" الصُّفُوفِ الأُوَلِ"
