Yahya related to me from Malik from Hisham ibn Urwa that he saw his father wiping over his leather socks. He said, "When he wiped over his socks he would never do more than wipe the tops and he would not wipe the bottoms."

ہشام بن عروہ رحمہ اللہ سے روایت ہے کہ انھوں نے اپنے باپ ( عروہ بن زبیر رحمہ اللہ ) کو موزوں پر مسح کرتے ہوئے دیکھا ، وہ جب موزوں پر مسح کرتے تو اُن کی پشت یعنی صرف اوپر والے حصے کا مسح کرتے ، اس سے زیادہ کچھ نہ کرتے اور موزوں کی نچلی جانب مسح نہ کرتے ۔
Hisham bin Urwah rehmatullah alaih se riwayat hai ki unhon ne apne baap (Urwah bin Zubair rehmatullah alaih) ko mozon par masah karte hue dekha, woh jab mozon par masah karte to un ki pusht yani sirf upar wale hisse ka masah karte, is se ziada kuch na karte aur mozon ki nichli janib masah na karte.
حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ ، أَنَّهُ رَأَى أَبَاهُ « يَمْسَحُ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ ». قَالَ : وَكَانَ لَا يَزِيدُ إِذَا مَسَحَ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ ، عَلَى أَنْ يَمْسَحَ ظُهُورَهُمَا ، وَلَا يَمْسَحُ بُطُونَهُمَا
