Chapter of ablution for a junub intending to sleep or eat before bathing

‌بَابُ وُضُوءِ الْجُنُبِ إِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَنَامَ أَوْ يَطْعَمَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَغْتَسِلَ

Muwatta Imam Malik 103

Yahya related to me from Malik from Abdullah ibn Dinar that Abdullah ibn Umar related that Umar ibn al-Khattab mentioned to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, that he would sometimes become junub in the night. The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said to him, "Do wudu and wash your penis, and then sleep."

حضرت عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ حضرت عمر بن خطاب رضی اللہ عنہ نے رسول اللہ ﷺ کے سامنے تذکرہ کیا کہ انھیں رات کے وقت جنابت لاحق ہوتی ہے تو رسول اللہ ﷺ نے اُن سے فرمایا :’’ وضو کر لو اور اپنے عضو کو دھو لو ، پھر سو جاؤ ۔‘‘

Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se riwayat hai ki Hazrat Umar bin Khattab (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne Rasul Allah SAW ke samne tazkira kiya ki unhen raat ke waqt junubat lahik hoti hai to Rasul Allah SAW ne un se farmaya: ''Wuzu kar lo aur apne uzv ko dho lo, phir so jao.''

حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : ذَكَرَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ ، أَنَّهُ يُصِيبُهُ جَنَابَةٌ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ . فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ : « تَوَضَّأْ ، وَاغْسِلْ ذَكَرَكَ ، ثُمَّ نَمْ »

Yahya related to me from Malik from Hisham ibn Urwa from his father that A'isha, the wife of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, used to say, "If you have intercourse with your wife and then wish to go to sleep before doing ghusl, do not sleep until you have done wudu as for prayer."

حضرت عائشہ زوجۂ پیغمبر ﷺ سے روایت ہے ، وہ کہا کرتی تھیں کہ جب تم میں سے کوئی شخص اپنی بیوی سے مباشرت کرے ، پھر غسل کرنے سے پہلے سونا چاہے تو نہ سوئے یہاں تک کہ نماز کے وضو جیسا وضو کر لے ۔

Hazrat Ayesha zauja e paighambar SAW se riwayat hai, woh kaha karti thin keh jab tum mein se koi shakhs apni biwi se mubashrat kare, phir ghusl karne se pehle sona chahe to na soye yahan tak keh namaz ke wuzu jaisa wuzu kar le.

وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ ، ⦗ص:٤٨⦘ أَنَّهَا كَانَتْ تَقُولُ : « إِذَا أَصَابَ أَحَدُكُمُ الْمَرْأَةَ ، ثُمَّ أَرَادَ أَنْ يَنَامَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَغْتَسِلَ ، فَلَا يَنَمْ حَتَّى يَتَوَضَّأَ وُضُوءَهُ لِلصَّلَاةِ »

Yahya related to me from Malik from Nafi that Abdullah ibn Umar, if he wished to sleep or eat while junub, would wash his face, and his arms to the elbows, and wipe his head. Then he would eat or sleep.2.20 The Repetition of the Prayer by a Person in a State of Major Ritual Impurity, his Doing Ghusl, when He has Prayed without Remembering it, and his Washing his Garments.


Grade: Sahih

نافع رحمہ اللہ سے روایت ہے کہ حضرت عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما جب حالتِ جنابت میں سونے یا کھانے کا ارادہ کرتے تو اپنے چہرے کو اور ہاتھوں کو کہنیوں سمیت دھو لیتے اور سر کا مسح کر لیتے پھر کھا لیتے یا سو جاتے ۔

Nafey rehmatullah alaihe se riwayat hai ke Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar razi Allah tala anhuma jab halat e janabat mein sone ya khane ka irada karte to apne chehre ko aur hathon ko kahniyon samet dho lete aur sar ka masah kar lete phir kha lete ya so jate.

وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ كَانَ إِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَنَامَ أَوْ يَطْعَمَ وَهُوَ جُنُبٌ غَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ ، وَيَدَيْهِ إِلَى الْمِرْفَقَيْنِ ، وَمَسَحَ بِرَأْسِهِ ، ثُمَّ طَعِمَ أَوْ نَامَ
